Brooks Lee On The Bench On Thursday

Minnesota Twins rookie infielder Brooks Lee is back on the bench on Thursday for the contest against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Willi Castro is starting at the 6 and is batting ninth against Guardians rookie left-hander Joey Cantillo. Lee has now been on the bench for the last two games, and with Carlos Correa back from his foot injury, the majority of Lee's playing time will most likely come at second base down the stretch and in the postseason if the Twins lock up a wild-card spot in the American League. The 23-year-old switch-hitter will battle for playing time at the keystone with Edouard Julien and Kyle Farmer as a utility infielder. Lee should definitely be rostered in all dynasty/keeper formats at this point. In his first 152 major-league at-bats in 2024, he's hit .217/.258/.316 with three homers, 25 RBI and three stolen bases.

Brooks Lee Activated And Starting On Sunday

Minnesota Twins shortstop prospect Brooks Lee (biceps) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Sunday and is starting at the 6 and batting eighth for the Twins in Sunday's series finale at Target Field against the Toronto Blue Jays and rookie right-hander Yariel Rodriguez. Lee, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, should play regularly for the Twins, at least until Carlos Correa (heel) is able to make his return. The 23-year-old switch-hitter has played in only 26 games for Minnesota in 2024 in his first year in the big leagues and has hit .253/.309/.333 with a .642 OPS, two home runs, two doubles, 15 RBI, three steals, nine walks and 16 strikeouts in 110 plate appearances. He has an advanced approach at the plate from both sides and favors contact over raw power. At least in deep mixed leagues, Lee could be serviceable as middle-infield depth if he's playing regularly.

Brooks Lee Lands On 10-Day Injured List

Updating a previous report, the Minnesota Twins placed infield prospect Brooks Lee (biceps) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with biceps tendinitis and activated infielder Kyle Farmer (shoulder) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. The 23-year-old Lee had been seeing regular playing time for the Twins with Carlos Correa (heel) on the IL, but he'll now be forced to miss at least the next 10 days. The former eighth overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly has hit .253 (25-for-99) with two homers, 15 RBI, two steals and eight runs scored in his first 26 major-league games since being called up. With Lee out, Farmer figures to see regular playing time at the keystone in Minnesota. Farmer is starting at second and batting ninth for the Twins in Game 1 of their Friday doubleheader against the visiting division-rival Cleveland Guardians and rookie left-hander Joey Cantillo.
