Carlos Correa Tallies Three Hits, Homers In Rout Of Orioles

Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 9-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. His other two hits were singles. The 30-year-old ripped his second homer of the season in the third inning -- a two-run shot -- off of Orioles pitcher Cade Povich to put Minnesota up by five. It left the bat at 109 MPH and traveled a staggering 458 feet. Correa isn't enjoying the same batting average success in 2025 as he did a season ago, when he hit .310, but he's underperforming his .261 xBA (.233). Tuesday marked back-to-back multi-hit efforts for the former first-overall pick, and he's done so three times in his last five appearances.

Byron Buxton Hits Home Run, Tallies Four RBI

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, four RBI, and two runs during their victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday evening. Buxton hit an RBI double to left field in the second frame, scoring Trevor Larnach. Later in the seventh, Buxton hit his eighth long ball of the season, scoring Jonah Bride and Willi Castro. This was Buxton's second-straight contest hitting a long ball. Over his last 10 contests, he has only gone hitless once and held an impressive .357/.378/.643 slash line with one double, one triple, and three home runs. The 31-year-old has generated an elite 14.1 percent barrel rate with a 55.3 percent hard-hit rate, which suggests he should continue to see his power production increase. He will be a popular play in DFS on Wednesday, facing Baltimore right-hander Charlie Morton.

Pablo Lopez Fans 11 In Tuesday's Win

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez carved up the Orioles in Tuesday's 9-1 win. Lopez pitched five innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with a season-high 11 strikeouts. The 29-year-old has verged on being a fantasy ace throughout his career. He has looked like one to start the season, going 3-2 with a 2.18 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP, and a 10.09 K/9 rate in six starts and 33 IP. He will look to keep things going in his next scheduled start, which will be a middling matchup against the Giants.

Trevor Larnach Starting In Right Field On Tuesday

Minnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach will start in right field and bat eighth for Tuesday's series opener against the visiting Baltimore Orioles and left-hander Cade Povich at Target Field. Larnach was initially slated to be on the bench, he draws into the lineup after Harrison Bader was scratched. The 28-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder is best faded in DFS and regular fantasy leagues while facing a left-hander on Tuesday. The former first-rounder (20th overall) in 2018 out of Oregon State has slashed .230/.321/.344 on the year with a .666 OPS, four home runs, 16 RBI, 17 runs scored and one stolen base in 122 at-bats. Against lefties, he's gone 3-for-21 with no homers, two RBI, one walk and six strikeouts. Larnach has never faced off against Povich in his career.

Royce Lewis Hitting Fifth In Season Debut

Minnesota Twin third baseman Royce Lewis (hamstring) is serving as the designated hitter and is batting fifth for the Twins in his 2025 debut on Tuesday against the visiting Baltimore Orioles and left-hander Cade Povich. Lewis strained his left hamstring in spring training and missed the start of the regular season, but he was activated from the injured list on Monday and will make his season debut in the series opener against Baltimore. While the 25-year-old former first-rounder has had trouble staying on the field since debuting in the big leagues in 2022, he has demonstrated his ability for high-end power by hitting 33 home runs and driving in 104 in 152 total games over 152 big-league games. Eventually, Lewis will move to an everyday role at third base, but for now, he will be eased in as the DH. Lewis is hitless in just two career at-bats versus Povich.
