You don’t have to wait until Monday to compete with me. You can sign up today and compete with me June 2-4. Here’s the way my lineup shakes up for the weekend!
Batters
I only have two hitters inside the top 300 in fantasy baseball over the last two weeks, so now is the time to compete against my roster. Josh Jung is the sixth-best player in fantasy over the past couple of weeks thanks to four home runs, 13 runs and 12 RBIs. He has a .442 average, .500 on base percentage and nine extra base hits over that span (fourth most). Julio Rodríguez is the other hitter who has been red hot of late (17/54, .315 AVG, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 10 R, 2 SB). Those numbers have him as the No. 15 player in a standard 5×5 fantasy baseball league.
Fernando Tatis Jr., Taylor Ward, Jeremy Peña, Luis Robert Jr. and Andrés Giménez are all hitting under .220 over the last 14 days.
Pitchers
As discussed in previous articles, pitching is the strongest part of my fantasy baseball team. However, my top pitchers have some very tough matchups this weekend. Zac Gallen gets the Atlanta Braves, Luis Castillo is in Texas to take on the second-best offense in baseball in terms of wOBA, and Luis Severino is in Los Angeles to face the Dodgers. Rookie J.P. France and Cristian Javier should be able to rack up a few strikeouts against an Angels team that ranks in the top 10 in K% over the last month, but they could also run into trouble against Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.
I have six saves over the last two weeks, and four of them belong to Carlos Estévez. I highly doubt he’ll have many save opportunities in Houston this weekend.
Let’s play ball.
To make it more interesting, the teams that compete with me and beat me will be featured on Mean Streets, which airs daily on Game+ Network. Sign up and claim your team here.
