Oshae Brissett Declining Player Option

According to NBA insider Keith Smith, Boston Celtics forward Oshae Brissett will decline his $2.5 million player option, making him an unrestricted free agent this summer. The veteran, who signed a two-year contract last June, appeared in 55 games for the C's during the 2023-24 campaign, averaging 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds. While there's a good chance Brissett will find a new team, his production needs to improve before he finds his way onto any fantasy roster ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Oshae Brissett Out With An Illness

Boston Celtics forward Oshae Brissett (illness) won't be available for Thursday's clash with the Knicks. The 25-year-old lands on the shelf with a non-COVID illness, as the team has downgraded Brissett from questionable to out. Brissett's absence means very little, as he has averaged only 7.8 minutes per game for the month. He will have his first opportunity to return on Friday versus Charlotte. Brissett might play a bigger role against the Hornets if Boston decides to rest some of its starters for the second leg of a back-to-back.

Sam Hauser, Oshae Brissett Join Boston's Starting Unit

Boston Celtics forwards Sam Hauser and Oshae Brissett will join the starting lineup on Sunday against Washington. The two get a promotion to the first unit following injuries to Derrick White (hand) and Jaylen Brown (ankle). Brissett is starting for the first time this season, while Hauser will be rolling with starters for an eighth time in 2023-24. He's averaged 9.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in the role. The rest of the Boston bench could also get extended action in the game, as Washington sends out a short-handed squad that will likely struggle to keep pace with the Celtics.
