Tight end Gerald Everett signed with the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Gerald Everett signs with Seattle
Analysis: Everett will compete with Will Dissly and former fourth-round pick Colby Parkinson for snaps in Seattle. With Everett, it’s never been a question of talent but opportunity. Over the last two seasons, Everett has ranked 16th and 18th in yards per route run at the position. In Seattle, he could earn the chance to shine in an expanded role. New Seahawk offensive coordinator Shane Waldron has seen Everett’s talent up close as the Rams pass-game coordinator from 2018-2020. Waldron was also the tight ends coach for Los Angeles in 2017 when the team selected Everett in the second round of the NFL Draft. Waldron could unleash the athletic tackle-breaking machine. Everett is the perfect late-round upside target in best-ball drafts.
