One of the top defenders available on the free agent market this offseason found a new home Tuesday night, as CB William Jackson landed with the Washington Football Team on a three-year deal.

Jackson was the first-round pick (24th overall) of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2016. He missed his rookie season with a torn pectoral muscle but played 59 of a possible 64 games the last four years.

Washington bolsters secondary, signs William Jackson

Fantasy slant: Jackson will start across from Kendall Fuller this season as a significant upgrade from the departed Ronald Darby. Jackson flashed the ability last season to erase a team’s top receiving option. Per our Shadow Index, Jackson followed Amari Cooper, T.Y. Hilton, DeVante Parker and Darius Slayton on 66.7-83.0% of their routes last year. He allowed a 26.6% catch rate in those four games, 44 total receiving yards and zero touchdowns. An already-formidable Washington defense just got even stronger. — Derek Brown
