The New England Patriots continued making additions Monday, signing ex-Eagles DB Jalen Mills to a four-year deal, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Mills has been with the Eagles the last five years since being drafted in the seventh round of the 2016 draft. He started his career as a cornerback but moved to safety in 2020.
Patriots' spree continues with Jalen Mills
Fantasy slant: After moving to safety last season, Mills offers the Patriots more of an upgrade in the run defense department than in coverage. In 2020 Mills ranked 42nd among 105 safeties with 200 or more snaps played in run defense grade per PFF. Mills was still exploitable in pass defense, allowing a 61.2% catch rate and 90.0 passer rating. New England continues to try and shore up a defense that was bottom five against rushing last season. – Derek Brown
