The franchise tags have started to come down, with the New York Jets electing to tag S Marcus Maye late Monday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Maye, who turns 28 Tuesday, was due to enter free agency after four years in New York, playing all 16 games in every year except for a six-game 2018. He was PFF’s No. 5 graded safety in 2020 and had two interceptions and two sacks.
