Season Record: 24-16, +7.77 (Bonus not included in record)

I still like my bonus bets even though I don’t include them in the official record. For example, Bunting didn’t get an assist on Tuesday, but we had him for one point at -156, a goal at +260 and three shots at +154. The reason I list three official picks is because I don’t want to confuse anyone with too many picks. I also feel strong about my bonus picks but they are longer shots. The Best NHL Props Bets

Patrick Kane Over 3.5 SOG

(+104, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Patrick Kane is on pace for his worst season ever in the NHL as he enters Thursday with four goals and 21 points. Kane had 92 points last season and he’s scored 40 goals and 100 points twice in his career. It’s not for a lack of trying as he has 24 shots in his past four games and 20 in his last three. He’s cleared 3.5 shots on goal in eight of his last 11 games, but again nothing really to show for it. He’s shooting a career worst 4.2% (11.5 for his career), and I’m not sure if he’s going to turn it around. A decent buy low because he could be flipped to a better situation at the deadline. As for now, we’re looking for four shots against a Vegas team without Jack Eichel, Alex Pietrangelo and Shea Theodore.

Sam Reinhart Over 2.5 SOG

(-118, BetRivers)

Reinhart scored a goal and finished with three points in his last game. He played 22:18, the third most he’s played in a game this season, most since Oct. 23. The Florida Panthers were without Carter Verhaeghe due to an illness (he’s questionable), and Matthew Tkachuk missed practice Thursday due to an illness. He’s also questionable to suit up. Even if they play, Reinhart is trending up and he’s getting rewarded as he’s averaging 19:39 per game, which is two more minutes than he received in his first season with Florida last year. He has four shots in his last game and has at least three SOG in three of five and seven of his past 11 games. At home he averages 3.2 shots but on the road he averages 2.5.

Bonus

Alex Tuch Over 2.5 SOG

(-112, BetRivers)

I’m going back to Alex Tuch here even in a spot against the Colorado Avalanche. As mentioned last week, he is on pace to have his best campaign in the NHL in his first full season with the Sabres. He’s playing more than he ever has and he’s getting nearly two more minutes per game on the power play and he’s killing penalties in Buffalo. He has four goals in his past six games and has put at least three pucks on the net in eight straight games.

Zach Hyman Assist

(-108, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Hyman’s racked up 10 assists in his last eight games and has at least 4 shots in five straight and eight of his last 10 games. Hyman had 10 shots in a game against the Islanders last month. He has eight in two games against the Blues, including five shots, one goal and one assist in his last matchup against them. When you play with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl you’re going to fall into assists.

Bonus

I have more NHL props to consider from the day’s episode of Mean Streets. There’s plenty of value when it comes to NHL assist props and I shared a few on the show.
