NHL DFS value plays, March 7

We have six games on the NHL DFS slate for Sunday with puck drop set for 5 p.m. ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The following NHL DFS value plays can be rostered as one-offs or you can pair them up with their linemates. I tend to attack power-plays but there are solo plays that make a lot of sense for the cash game players out there. Below you’ll see my favorite values, plays, stacks and fades.

If you’re looking for a larger breakdown check out Fantasy Hockey Picks & Bets. It’s a five-day-per-week show, but I host Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Josh Norris, C, Ottawa Senators

($4.2k DraftKings | $4.1k FanDuel)

If you’re looking for some value, take a peek at Ottawa’s third line with Norris, Drake Batherson and Tim Stutzle. Norris has seven points in his past 10 games, including a goal and an assist in his last game which came against the Flames. Ottawa and Calgary have played each other four times over the past 10 days and we’ve seen 32 combined goals. Batherson has four of those goals.

Nick Ritchie, W, Boston Bruins

($4.2k DraftKings | $4.2k FanDuel)

The Bruins are in a smash spot against a Devils team that has allowed six goals in back-to-back games. They’ve lost five straight games and eight of their past nine games. They could very well turn to Aaron Dell which is an even bigger plus for the Bruins’ offense as they enter with the highest team implied goal total on the slate. Everyone will stack Boston’s first line but consider their second line. Ritchie scored his eighth goal of the season in his last game and he’s still on the first PP unit. The Devils have a league-worst 63.9 PK%. David Krejci and Craig Smith should be on your radar too.

Travis Konecny, W, Philadelphia Flyers

($5.2k DraftKings | $5.6k FanDuel)

Konecny has one goal, four points and two power-play points in three games since returning to the lineup. He was scoreless in his first game back as he only played 15:46, but he quickly moved up the lineup and has played 16:36 and 18:17 in his past two games. He’s skating on the second line with Kevin Hayes and Scott Laughton, and he’s on the first PP. I’m very interested in this Philadelphia and Washington matchup as it has the highest goal total on the slate at 6.5.

Jonathan Huberdeau, W, Florida Panthers

($5.5k DraftKings | $7.2k FanDuel)

Huberdeau enters Sunday with 10 goals and 28 points in 23 games. He has multi-point games in back-to-back contests and 11 points (five goals) in his last 10 games. Huberdeau’s off of Aleksander Barkov’s line but he’s on the first PP with Barkov and Patric Hornqvist, and all three are in play. James Reimer has racked up 10 wins on the season, but he’s allowed at least three goals in nine of his past 11 games. Huberdeau’s price tag on DK is just too.

T.J. Oshie, W, Washington Capitals

($3.9k DraftKings | $5.6k FanDuel)

Oshie checks in under $4k on DraftKings, which is pretty remarkable. I know he only has five goals and 15 points in 22 games, but he’s back inside the top-six tonight with Tom Wilson suspended. Oshie will play on the second line with Nicklas Backstrom and Jakub Vrana who also checks in at a reasonable price on DK ($4.3K). Carter Hart has allowed at least five goals in two of his past three starts, and he enters with a .893 SV% and 3.49 GAA.

Erik Brannstrom, D, Ottawa Senators

($3.4k DraftKings | $3.7k FanDuel)

Brannstrom and Matt Grzelcyk are my favorite cheap defensemen for the Sunday slate. They are both getting power-play time and Brannstrom’s starting to get a bit more ice time. He has four points in his past six games and has seen an increase in time on ice in three straight games.
