Not long after getting released by the Las Vegas Raiders, WR Tyrell Williams has reportedly found a new home, agreeing to a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Williams, 29 years old, missed 2020 with a torn labrum. He has 3,181 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns in his career (2015-19) split between the Chargers and Raiders.
Fantasy slant: There really isn't anything to see here for fantasy purposes, as Williams' best years — or, more appropriately, "year" — are in the rearview mirror. Williams flamed out in 2019 despite getting a prime opportunity to be the Raiders' No. 1 receiver following the Antonio Brown debacle. He's now entering his age-29 season and isn't a good bet to turn back the hands of time. Even with the Lions looking likely to be extremely thin at wideout, Williams is a long shot to put up viable fantasy numbers in 2021.
