Every Monday during the NFL season, the Injury Report goes through the injuries around the NFL position-by-position as they relate to your season-long fantasy football teams.

Friday Update

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said running back James Conner will be a game-time decision. Darrel Williams and/or Eno Benjamin would be usable if Conner misses, but keep in mind that the Cardinals game starts at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday.

Raiders running back Josh Jacobs missed practice Friday with an illness. Zamir White would be in for a big role if he were to miss the game. Hunter Renfrow also didn’t practice, he hasn’t all week and seems unlikely to play Sunday.

Cols coach Frank Reich said Michael Pittman is “ready to go.” Pittman appears on track to play against the Chiefs after logging three limited practices this week.

Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy practiced Friday. He might still be listed as questionable but appears to be trending in the right direction.

Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles said Julio Jones will “probably” be a game-time decision again this week. If he can’t suit up this week where the Bucs will be without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, we’re in trouble.

Original Injury Run

Quarterback

Welp. Significant quarterback injuries are the last thing anyone wants to see in the NFL. Entertainment value and ratings typically crater when the star signal-callers go down, which is bad for both fans and the league. We saw our second starting quarterback of the season go down with a significant injury on Sunday in the 49ers’ Trey Lance, who broke his ankle and will have season-ending surgery, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jimmy Garoppolo completed 13-of-21 passes for 154 yards and one touchdown in relief against the Seahawks. He’s an immediate priority addition in two-quarterback and superflex leagues but can be safely left on the waiver wire in standard 12-team leagues.

Running Back

Cardinals running back James Conner left Sunday’s game against the Raiders in the third quarter with an ankle injury. Conner was deemed questionable but ultimately didn’t return to the game. After he left, Darrel Williams had eight carries and three targets, while Eno Benjamin had five carries and four targets. Williams handled both carries inside the 10-yard line and scored a touchdown. If Conner misses time, it seems like the Cardinals will use Williams and Benjamin in tandem with Williams having an edge when it comes to carries around the goal line and Benjamin having a slight edge in the passing game.

Patriots running back Damien Harris was seen grabbing his knee sometime during the second half of the game against the Steelers. He told the media after the game that he’s fine. His quote was, “I’m fine, dog! Look at me, I’m fine!” So he’s probably fine.

Wide Receiver

Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy left the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Texans with what was reported as a shoulder injury, which was corrected after the game to a rib injury. X-rays were negative on Jeudy’s ribs, according to ProFootballTalk. He seems to have avoided a serious injury, though we’ll have to watch the practice reports to see if he’ll be available in Week 3. K.J. Hamler would stand to see increased opportunities if Jeudy isn’t available this week.

Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow earned the dubious honor of becoming just the second player in NFL history to fumble the ball multiple times in overtime in Week 2, according to the AP’s Josh Dubow. Renfrow’s second fumble, which ultimately cost the Raiders the game, wasn’t so much his fault, as he was completely erased on the play by Arizona linebacker and Renfrow’s former college teammate Isaiah Simmons. Renfrow was evaluated for a concussion after the game, and his status will have to be monitored throughout the week to see if he clears the league’s concussion protocol.

Buccaneers wide receiver Julio Jones was a true game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Saints but was inactive. This is hugely disappointing after Jones saw a decent amount of usage in Week 1 with five targets and two carries and was expected to see more in Week 2 with Chris Godwin also missing the game. We’ll have to see if Jones can make it back on the field for Week 3. Mike Evans could also be out if he gets suspended for his cheap shot on Marshon Lattimore on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Devin Duvernay left Sunday’s game with a concussion. Duvernay had four catches, two touchdowns and 54 receiving yards in Week 1 as Lamar Jackson has been airing out in the Ravens passing attack to start the season. Duvernay even had two catches for 42 yards and a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown before leaving the game in Week 2. Check on his status throughout the week to make sure he clears concussion protocol.

Tight End

Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz injured his knee toward the end of the game against the Bengals. There’s no concern about his ACL structure, but he’ll have an MRI on Monday to learn more, according to the Dallas Morning News. Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot are the only other tight ends on the Cowboys roster. Yes, those are real names, and one of them might actually have to play if Schultz misses time.
