Next NHL Best Bets for Tuesday (5/6)

Thursday’s NHL best bets feature the day’s two-game slate with a scheduled first puck drop of 7 p.m. ET.

With our FTN betting package, you’ll get picks from everyone at FTN, plus tools, projections and access to Discord, where I’ll discuss every slate.

Today’s Best NHL Bets

Edmonton/Vegas Over 6.5

(-109, BetRivers, 2.18 units to win 2 units)

Edmonton Oilers ML

(+118, Caesars)

We actually saw a solid version of Adin Hill Tuesday in Vegas, but it wasn’t enough to contain the Oilers offense for a full 60 minutes. With the Oilers showing an ability to get secondary scoring from their bottom six, and Vegas still without their best defender in Alex Pietrangelo, I’m even more convinced that this series will continue to trend toward the over. The Golden Knights struggled in their own zone for the majority of Game 1 regardless of who was on the ice and I can’t imagine that being much different in Game 2. The over 6.5 will remain a strong bet throughout the course of the series, and that should hold true here, but I also think there’s amazing value in the Oilers moneyline. They are the better team and they’re even more dangerous now that they’re getting above-awful goaltending.
