Welcome to the Week 4 Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire article here at FTN Fantasy.

Below you’ll see some of the best fantasy hockey waiver wire pickups, four-game streams, players to cut and grab in deep formats.

There are 11 teams scheduled to play four games in Week 4 (Oct. 28 – Nov. 3), and there are three teams with only two games. It’s too early to cut players who have had a slow start, as we’re only a few weeks into the season. I’m all about streaming to get the most out of your moves, but don’t give up on players you drafted early.

The strategy I like to call “attacking the schedule” can be the difference in winning a championship. Each week, find out which borderline players or streamers wouldn’t crack your lineup on the busy days on the schedule.

Drop those players for players scheduled to play on the lighter scheduled nights. Those days are usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. If you’re in a shallow league or a roto league, this strategy may not mean that much to you. But if you’re not going to play an average player on a busy night like Thursday or Saturday, you’re better off dropping him for someone playing on those lighter days. This strategy is similar to “two-start” pitchers in Fantasy Baseball.

Week 4 (Oct. 28 – Nov. 3)

Four Games

Boston Bruins

(TUE vs. PHI, THU @ CAR, FRI @ PHI SUN vs. SEA)

  • Elias Lindholm, C
  • Mark Kastelic, C

Calgary Flames

(MON @ VGK, WED @ UTA, FRI vs. NJ, SUN vs. EDM)

  • Nazem Kadri, C
  • Connor Zary, C/RW
  • Jonathan Huberdeau, LW

Chicago Blackhawks

(MON @ COL, THU @ SJ, SAT @ LA, SUN @ ANA)

  • Teuvo Teravainen, W
  • Nick Foligno, LW
  • Alex Vlasic, D

Columbus Blue Jackets

(MON vs. EDM, WED vs. NYI, FRI vs. WPG, SAT @ WAS)

  • Yegor Chinakhov, RW
  • Sean Monahan, C
  • Kirill Marchenko, RW
  • Adam Fantilli, C
  • Cole Cillinger, C

There will be some lows on offense for the Blue Jackets, but these three players should get all the ice time they can handle. The counting stats will be strong, especially for Monahan, as he’s great in the faceoff circle. Fantilli should be owned in keeper and dynasty formats. You should be able to find CLS players on the wire throughout the season, like Cole Sillinger who played on the top line this past week.

New York Islanders

(MON vs. ANH, WED @ CLS, FRI @ BUF, SUN @ NYR)

  • Kyle Palmieri, RW
  • Maxim Tsyplakov, RW

San Jose Sharks

(MON @ UTA, TUE vs. LA, THU vs. CHI, SAT vs. VAN)

  • Mikael Granlund, C/RW
  • Tyler Toffoli, W
  • William Eklund, LW
  • Fabian Zetterlund, W
  • Jake Walman, D
  • Jack Thompson, D

Granlund is more than a streaming option. He should be owned across all formats. He has four goals and 10 points (six on the power play) in nine games, but I’m more intrigued by his 34 shots. Granlund has at least three shots on goal in seven of his nine games. By the way, he’s been plus money for three shots in every game and we’ve been all over it at FTN. I thought Walman would be more valuable in leagues with hits and blocks. I’m holding him and Zetterlund in deep leagues because the Sharks play Monday and Tuesday. I’ll move on if they have quiet games. Keep an eye on Jack Thompson and consider him in NHL DFS lineups. He has three power-play points and six blocks in his last three games.

Seattle Kraken

(TUE @ MTL, THU @ TOR, SAT @ OTT, SUN @ BOS)

  • Jordan Eberle, RW
  • Matty Beniers, C
  • Chandler Stephenson, C
  • Ryker Evans, D

Washington Capitals

(TUE vs. NYR, THU vs. MTL, SAT vs. CLS, SUN @ CAR)

  • Dylan Strome, C
  • Tom Wilson, RW
  • Pierre-Luc Dubois, C/LW

Winnipeg Jets

(MON vs. TOR, WED @ DET, FRI @ CLS, SUN vs. TB)

  • Gabriel Vilardi, C/RW
  • Adam Lowry, C
  • Cole Perfetti, C/LW

Two Games

  • Dallas Stars
  • Detroit Red Wings
  • New Jersey Devils

  • Tuesday – 7 games
  • Wednesday – 6 games
  • Thursday – 7 games

Having players on Wednesday and Friday usually gives you an edge this week, but this is a balanced week.
