Columbus Blue Jackets ML

The Lightning rarely play Andrei Vasilevskiy on back-to-back nights, so we will likely see Jonas Johansson in net for the Lightning. Vasilevskiy to Johansson is one of the biggest skill gaps at the goaltender position in the league and it puts the Lightning in a rough spot against a Blue Jackets team who might just be the league’s hottest team. They are 5-0 since the break and have decisive wins in every game they’ve played. I don’t know why they are such big underdogs against a Lightning team that they’ve historically been competitive against.

Winnipeg Jets -1.5

We have a similar situation with the Islanders who might have to lean on their unproven backup goalie, Jakub Skarek, who has yet to have a pro season with a save percentage better than .900. The Jets have been struggling to score goals, but their defense has consistently been solid. They’re a team that usually sees No. 1 goalies every single game, so if Skarek does get the nod, I expect the Jets to feast. I love the value we’re getting on the puck line and will take it for 2 units.
