As the fantasy football season rolls on, situations change quickly week to week. Whether injuries, totals, gamescripts, etc. the NFL landscape is constantly evolving. To help diagnose those changes weekly for fantasy football, I’ll highlight them using our amazing NFL Splits tool.
Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
With Joe Mixon sidelines, Bernard will be a popular play this week, with a likelihood of 15-20 touches and his passing-game involvement. The Browns are a tough matchup, ranking ninth in second-level yards and third in open field yards allowed. Cleveland has allowed the 10th-fewest rushing yards (443) this season. Bernard can get there this week on volume and touchdown equity. The Browns have allowed the third-most (7) rushing touchdowns so far.
Jamaal Williams, RB, Green Bay Packers
The Texans have been a running back wonderland matchup all season long. Jones popped up on the injury report late in the week, and if he’s out, Williams enters the lock-button conversation. Matt LaFleur’s commitment to the run would set Williams up for a floor of 15-18 rushing attempts. Williams would be a script-proof three-down back, as evidenced by his 4.5 targets per game with Jones off the field since 2018.
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
With Emmanuel Sanders sidelined and Michael Thomas banged up, there is no question Kamara is the centerpiece of the Saints offense. Since 2017 without Thomas on the field, Kamara has crushed the opposition. Averaging 31.7 DK points per game is an absurd number, but it's within the range of outcomes this week. The Panthers have allowed the most rushing touchdowns (8) and receptions (47) to opposing backs while also relinquishing the fourth-most receiving yards (327). Kamara could break the slate this week.
Stefon Diggs, WR, Buffalo Bills
Gabriel Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills
Diggs and the Bills’ receiving weapons were in smash spots before the news of John Brown missing this game hit the front page. Diggs was a fantastic play in the one game that Brown sat out this season. With Brown out, Davis also enters the conversation. Davis has served as a multifaceted backup for Buffalo, filling in for Brown or Cole Beasley when they have missed time. In a get-right game for Josh Allen, Davis at $3,600 becomes an elite salary-saver option with a reasonable floor and immense ceiling.
