Tony Pollard Questionable For Week 17

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was unable to practice all week but is listed as questionable to play on Sunday in Week 17 against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Pollard also did not practice all of last week before drawing a questionable tag. He eventually was active in the Week 16 loss to the division-rival Indianapolis Colts and played a season-low 39% of the offensive snaps while seeing only 11 touches for 40 scrimmage yards. The week before in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Pollard played just 44% of the offensive snaps. Pollard's workload is clearly being monitored late in the year with him banged up and the Titans out of the playoff picture. If he's active this weekend against the Jaguars, he'll be at risk of losing more work to Tyjae Spears, making him a shaky RB3/flex in fantasy despite the excellent matchup against a bad Jaguars defense.

Tony Pollard Not Seen At Friday's Practice

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was not seen at the portion of Friday's practice that was open to the media. Unless Pollard returned to the practice field after the media left, he will have missed practice all week, putting his availability firmly in doubt for Sunday's divisional matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fantasy managers will want to check back for the 27-year-old status on the final injury report for Week 17 on Friday, but there's a possibility that he'll be ruled out entirely. If that happens, Tyjae Spears will operate as Tennessee's lead back and will have clear RB2 upside in a plus-plus matchup against the Jags' terrible defense. Pollard played in last week's loss to the Colts despite not practice all week, but he played just 39% of the snaps. He'll be a shaky RB3/flex for fantasy managers if he plays this weekend. Spears has four touchdowns in the last two games.

Joey Slye Not A Factor As Fantasy Playoffs Continue

New England Patriots kicker Joey Slye should be avoided in fantasy football ahead of Saturday's Week 17 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Slye ranks 24th among kickers in fantasy points this year, and he has gone just 1-for-2 on field goals over his last two contests. Opportunities have been somewhat hard to come by for the veteran kicker as New England isn't a major scoring threat. He does have impressive leg power, but as long as the Patriots' offense lacks dependability, its veteran kicker will stay off the fantasy radar. That's especially true this week against a Chargers squad allowing the eight-fewest fantasy points to kickers in 2024.

Tony Pollard Not Seen At Thursday's Practice

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was not spotted at the open portion of Thursday's practice, according to team reporter Turron Davenport. Pollard has not taken part in practice often over the last few weeks yet has not missed a game this season. However, with sophomore running back Tyjae Spears finally healthy, he has eaten into Pollard's workload. Spears has logged 23 touches and scored four touchdowns in his last two games. That said, fantasy managers in deeper setups will likely have to start Pollard if he's active on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so his status should continue to be monitored throughout the rest of the week.

Tony Pollard Estimated As Non-Participant Wednesday

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimation. The Titans didn't hold an actual practice, but if they had, Pollard would not have participated. The 27-year-old has routinely appeared on the Titans' injury report this season, but he has managed to play in all 15 games so far, totaling 1,017 rushing yards, 238 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. He ranks as the overall RB19 in fantasy football while cementing himself as the Titans' clear-cut No. 1 running back option over Tyjae Spears. Seeing Pollard listed as DNP on Tennessee's injury report is understandably concerning for fantasy managers, but it's not necessarily indicative of his Week 17 availability. In fact, just last week, Pollard missed all three practices but still managed to suit up on Sunday afternoon. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the Titans' injury report and, if necessary, check back to confirm his availability when Tennessee releases its list of inactive players on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern. If Pollard does play, he'll rank as a mid-to-high RB2 option against the Jacksonville Jaguars' subpar run defense.
