Tennessee Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker said that the team is unlikely to pick up wide receiver Treylon Burks' (knee) fifth-year option. Burks is still working through his rehab for a torn ACL that he suffered in Week 6 of last year, and combined with his lack of production since being the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Arkansas, and it's not that tough of a decision for the Titans to move on after this year. The 25-year-old pass-catcher is not expected to be ready for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season this fall as well. Since entering the league in 2022, he has just 53 catches on 92 targets for 699 yards and one touchdown in 27 games played (17 starts). Tennessee added Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson in free agency and Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike through the draft, which will make it even more difficult for Burks to contribute in 2025 whenever he's past his knee injury.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks (knee) is unlikely to be ready for training camp this summer, A To Z Sports' Buck Reising reports. Burks, who has been a major bust for the Titans since they selected him 18th overall in 2022 out of Arkansas, was placed on Injured Reserve last year on Oct. 19 and eventually had surgery to address damage in his ACL. The 25-year-old didn't have a full tear of his ACL, which is good news, but he still isn't expected to be ready for training camp and also might not be ready for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season. It's more disappointment for the young wideout, who has completely fallen off the fantasy radar at this point, even in dynasty/keeper leagues. Through his first three NFL seasons, Burks has only 53 catches for 699 yards and one touchdown on 92 targets. The Titans added Van Jefferson in free agency, but they'll surely address the position in the upcoming draft as well.

The move to trade wide receiver A.J. Brown and replace him with Treylon Burks (knee) was one of the worst personnel moves in Tennessee Titans franchise history, and one of the worst in recent NFL memory, and The Athletic's Joe Rexrode thinks the Titans need to stop waiting for Burks to be a factor. Rexrode points out that Burks' 2025 salary cap hit and dead-money number are both $4.6 million if the Titans cut him, and he thinks it's totally worth doing to move on and give Burks a fresh start. The 24-year-old former first-rounder in 2022 has played in only 27 of a possible 51 games due to injuries and also had surgery in 2024 to address damage to his ACL. When Burks has been on the field, he's done very little, catching 53 passes for 699 yards and one touchdown. There's no guarantee that Burks can turn it around with Tennessee or another organization, though, especially coming off his knee injury.
