Tyler Lockett Wants To Keep Playing In 2025

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett could be playing in his final game with Seattle in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams, but he plans to continue his career in 2025. The 32-year-old former third-round pick in 2015 out of Kansas State has seen his role shrink to WR3 for the Seahawks in 2024 due to the emergence of second-year wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba. After reaching the 1,000-yard milestone four straight years from 2019-2022, Lockett had 894 receiving yards last year and currently is sitting on 572 yards and only two touchdowns on 47 receptions in 16 games this year. Lockett is the franchise's second-leading receiver in catches, yards and touchdowns, but he has accepted his role as more of a facilitator for both JSN and DK Metcalf. With a salary cap hit of $30.8 million in 2025, it's unlikely Lockett will stick around in Seattle.

Tony Pollard Limited As Week 18 Prep Begins

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was estimated as a limited participant on Wednesday. The 27-year-old missed last week's game with a combination of his ankle injury and an illness. His absence allowed Tyjae Spears to take over as Tennessee's starter, but Spears picked up a concussion mid-game, forcing the Titans to rely on third-string running back Julius Chestnut. With Spears expected to miss Week 18, Pollard's return comes at a great time. He's trending toward playing in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Houston Texans, ranking as a low-end RB2 in fantasy football.

Tyjae Spears Estimated As DNP On Wednesday

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (concussion) was estimated as a non-participant in practice on Wednesday. Head coach Brian Callahan previously said that Spears would not play in Week 18, and Wednesday's injury report reflects that sentiment. The 23-year-old has flourished over his last three games, totaling 127 rushing yards, 134 receiving yards, and four touchdowns during that span. If there's anything positive to take away from the Titans' injury report, it's the fact that Tony Pollard (ankle) was able to practice in a limited capacity. There appears to be a strong chance that Pollard plays in Week 18, with Julius Chestnut backing him up.

Titans Could Use RB Committee If Tony Pollard Is Out In Week 18

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said if running back Tony Pollard (ankle, illness) cannot play in the Week 18 regular-season finale on Sunday against the division-rival Houston Texans, the team will likely go with a committee backfield of Julius Chestnut, Joshua Kelley and Jabari Small, who would be called up from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster for the final game of the year. Tyjae Spears suffered a concussion in last week's loss to the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars and will almost certainly be ruled out by Friday. The 27-year-old Pollard remains up in the air to play this weekend, but with the Titans having nothing left to play for but pride, it's unlikely he'll have much of a role if he is active. Chestnut would probably be the best sleeper DFS dart throw in Week 18 if Pollard is declared out on Sunday.

Tony Pollard Could Play In Week 18, Tyjae Spears Up In The Air

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said there's a chance that running back Tony Pollard (ankle, illness) could play in Week 18 against the division-rival Houston Texans after missing the Week 17 loss to the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Tyjae Spears (concussion), however, is more uncertain after suffering a concussion against the Jags on Sunday. Callahan hasn't sounded very optimistic about Spears' chances of playing in the regular-season finale. The Titans have nothing to play for this weekend and will prioritize playing time for younger players, so even if the 27-year-old Pollard is feeling well enough to return to action, there's no guarantee he'll be the Titans' featured back all game. If the team rules out both Pollard and Spears by this Friday, Tennessee's backfield would be split by Julius Chestnut and Joshua Kelley to close out the year.
