Trey Sermon Misses Practice On Wednesday

Indianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon (collarbone) popped on the Week 6 injury report after not practicing on Wednesday. In addition to Sermon, Jonathan Taylor (ankle) also missed practice and could be in danger of missing his second straight game in Week 6 against the division-rival Tennessee Titans. If Sermon is indeed in danger of missing this weekend's game, the Colts could be down to Tyler Goodson and Evan Hull in their backfield against Tennessee if both Taylor and Sermon cannot suit up. The 25-year-old Sermon was a great plug-and-play flex for fantasy managers that threw him into their lineups in the Week 5 loss to the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars, as he saw a season-high 10 carries for 38 yards and his second touchdown of the year while adding six receptions for 25 yards through the air. Fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on the practices statuses of both Sermon and Taylor the rest of the week.

Trey Sermon Finds End Zone In Loss

Indianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon ran the ball ten times for 38 yards and a touchdown in the team's 34-37 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also grabbed six catches for another 25 yards through the air. Sermon was slated to be the starter in Jonathan Taylor's (ankle) absence and was able to string together a productive fantasy outing as a result. Sermon saw a ten-to-five split in carries with running back Tyler Goodson, indicating there will be a noteworthy split in opportunities between the two in Taylor's absence. The former Ohio State Buckeye remains a viable option with Taylor out but will be in for a tougher matchup in Week 6 when the Colts face the Tennessee Titans.

Trey Sermon Up For A Big Workload In Week 5

Indianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon hasn't seen much action this season, but that is set to change in Week 5. With starting running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) confirmed out, Sermon is set to be the starter for Indianapolis in Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars. He also draws a favorable matchup, with the Jaguars allowing the seventh most fantasy points to the position. It's unclear how much of a split there will be between Sermon and RBs Tyler Goodson and Evan Hull, which might hinder Sermon's production in the matchup. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues needing a replacement for Taylor can look to Sermon, but managers with more depth might want to wait to see how the backfield plays out this week. He is the RB20 in our half-PPR rankings.
