The Philadelphia Eagles intend to elevate wide receiver Parris Campbell from their practice squad to their active roster for Week 2, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Campbell will give the Eagles additional reinforcement at wide receiver in case A.J. Brown (hamstring) or Johnny Wilson (hamstring) can't suit up. Campbell is less than two years removed from a solid 2022 campaign with the Colts in which he caught 63 passes for 623 yards and three touchdowns. He did take a step backward with the Giants last season, but at the very least, he's proven that he can be a productive receiver before. He'll contribute on offense if activated this week, but likely not enough to justify adding him in fantasy football leagues.

The former Indianapolis Colt finished a quiet preseason as a starter on Saturday but faces the chance of not making the final roster heading into the regular season. A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jahan Dotson are locks to make the final roster, but Campbell, rookie Ainias Smith, John Ross, and Kendall Minton are all fighting for the final few spots with none making a strong case for themselves over the others. The 27-year-old will likely latch on to the practice squad or be scooped up by a wide receiver-needy squad heading into Week 1 of the regular season.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Parris Campbell (groin) will not practice on Monday at training camp due to a groin injury that also kept him sidelined on Sunday. It's unclear how serious Campbell's injury is, but any time missed or the 27-year-old could hurt his chances of winning the No. 3 receiver job in his first year with the team. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are the team's clear cut top two receivers, with Campbell battling it out with the likes of Britain Covey, rookies Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith and John Ross for the No. 3 role. Campbell, a former second-rounder by the Indianapolis Colts in 2019 out of Ohio State, played in only 12 games for the Giants in 2023 and finished with 20 receptions for 104 yards and no touchdowns. He's currently off the fantasy radar in most leagues.
