Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington recorded three receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown in a 20-7 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a 73-yard kickoff return against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, Washington showed off his receiving ability Saturday night, capping off a 17-play drive with a 25-yard touchdown from Mac Jones. At just 22 years old, Washington has potential value in dynasty leagues if he gets playing time down the line. However, this season, Washington will be stuck behind Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, and Brian Thomas Jr., making him nothing more than an intriguing backup option in the case of injuries. To begin the year, redraft fantasy managers should leave Washington in free agency, but he is a name to keep an eye on during the season.
Sports Illustrated's John Shipley writes that he won't leave Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington off any roster projections moving forward after he had a good offseason from what the media observed during offseason organized team activities. Washington only had 16 receptions on 21 targets for 132 yards and two touchdowns in nine games (one start) in his rookie campaign in 2023 after the Jaguars selected him in the sixth round out of Penn State. Most of Washington's production came after the team lost Christian Kirk to a season-ending injury in the second half of the year. He's a name to keep an eye on, but as long as Kirk, rookie first-rounder Brian Thomas and Gabe Davis stay healthy, it's hard to envision Washington having a role begin enough to warrant a roster spot in standard 12-team fantasy leagues.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington is battling for a roster spot after the team brought in Brian Thomas Jr. Gabe Davis, and Devin Duvernay this offseason. Along with Christian Kirk, those three players are locks to make the final 53-man roster. Jacksonville began organized team activities on Monday, and Washington was a standout performer, according to John Shipley on the Jaguar Report. "Washington made several impressive grabs throughout the day in both individual and team drills, and he also showed off the quickness and explosiveness that makes his game stand out," Shipley wrote. "After (Christian) Kirk, he was probably the best overall performer in the receiver room on Monday." The 2023 sixth-round pick posted 16 receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie campaign, and his special teams ability could help his chances to secure his spot on the active roster. Although he won't begin the 2024 season on the fantasy radar, he could be worth stashing in extra-deep formats.
