Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson appears to have been demoted to the No. 2 role on offense amidst the recent emergence of fellow tight end Davis Allen. In his last two games, Allen has averaged 55 percent and 80 percent of the offensive snaps, respectively. Parkinson, on the other hand, played just 42 percent and 16 percent, respectively. This is a major fall from grace for Parkinson, who had been a respectable streaming option earlier in the year, catching at least three passes in four of his first five games. As long as Allen and the rest of the Rams' pass-catchers stay healthy, Parkinson lacks fantasy appeal.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson will square off against the Miami Dolphins this Monday night in one of the tougher matchups of Week 10. Parkinson looked like he was picking up some steam heading into the team's Week 6 bye, but he's totaled a meager four catches and 49 yards in the three contests since. The Dolphins' defense has been excellent against opposing pass-catchers this season, and tight ends are no exception, with the sixth-fewest fantasy points allowed to the position. Additionally, last weekend marked the first time the 25-year-old did not lead LA's tight end room in snaps in 2024, with that honor going to second-year TE Davis Allen. Whether or not Allen has surpassed Parkinson in the pecking order remains to be seen. Still, he's not a recommended option for the matchup on Monday Night Football. The former Stanford Cardinal ranks as RotoBaller's PPR TE27 in Week 10.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson will face the Seattle Seahawks in a road matchup this Sunday. The 25-year-old has been mostly quiet this season aside from a 13-target, seven-catch game in Week 5's 24-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He'll get a middle-of-the-road matchup in Week 9 against a Seahawks D that's letting up 6.1 yards per pass attempt to opposing offenses -- the twelfth-highest figure in the league. It's possible Parkinson sees more work than usual this week, with wide receivers Puka Nacua (knee) and Jordan Whittington (shoulder) questionable for the contest. Still, he'll be difficult to trust as a viable option due to his lack of consistency. The Stanford alum is RotoBaller's PPR TE27 in this week's rankings.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson went from a high of 13 targets to matching a season-low of two on either side of the team's Week 6 bye. Even with the multi-week absences of Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee), Parkinson never made real headway in establishing himself as a bankable option in the Rams' offense, averaging 3.5 receptions and 33 yards per game. With Kupp set to return to action when Los Angeles takes the field against the Vikings on Thursday night, Parkinson's productivity will be capped. Only two tight ends have logged fantasy scores in the double digits against Minnesota and the defense has given up just two touchdowns to the position so far. Tight end streamers should set their sights on more forgiving matchups coming up on Sunday rather than gamble on Parkinson in the first game of Week 8.
Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson was heavily involved in the passing game throughout the 24-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The former Seattle Seahawk saw more targets in this game than his first two seasons combined and he's already two targets shy of tying his career-high in a single season. Parkinson registered 52 yards and seven receptions on 13 targets against the Packers but couldn't find the end zone. His yardage totals haven't been eye-popping, but he's seen five or more targets in four of the team's five games. The Rams head into their bye week next with a game against the Las Vegas Raiders on deck for Week 7.
