First TD Bets — Wild Card Monday Slate

One of the harder parts of NFL DFS for me is not getting too cute. I’m a natural contrarian, to the point that I find joy in making bold calls that I know no one else is making. On most DFS slates, it’s a slippery slope between a sharp, contrarian call and a dumb one that is just too unlikely to succeed. But on a two-game slate where it’s difficult to differentiate well? This is my time to shine (and TwoGun’s). No wonder TwoGun has had so much success on these slates. Let the crazy commence!
Conference Championship NFL DFS Hot Takes
Kareem Hunt Scores 2 TDs
There’s a bit of a poetic nature to this call — the first Hot Take of the season was about Joe Mixon when I said something along the lines of “If a running back scores multiple TDs this week, my bet is it’s Joe Mixon.” That one turned out to be correct!
Saquon Barkley is obviously more likely to score twice, but Hunt is probably the second-most likely on this slate. He’s been super effective as the short-yardage back and seems to have that job to himself now as a result.
In Single Entry Strategies, I talked about the importance of telling stories with our lineups this week, so I also like how specific his path to success is. He’s not going to have explosive plays, he probably won’t catch a bunch of passes, he’s only relevant because of his TD equity.
