Single-Entry Strategies for the NFL DFS Conference Championships

Share

Two-game NFL DFS slates require a unique approach, and some pricing irregularities make this one in particular especially tricky. As always, the GPP Scores can help guide us, and we also now have the contest sims to help us. For a deep dive into each matchup, check out the Matchups Show. This article will instead focus on the various ways I can see myself searching for the slate-winning edge in my lineup.

Make Your Most Contrarian Plays Your Cheapest Plays

When only four teams are playing, basically all clearly relevant plays carry some amount of rostership. To get truly contrarian with any one player, like sub-5% contrarian, you have to go to some really low-probability plays. Consequently, it makes sense to do so with guys who can work in two ways. Either they overcome the odds and hit in a meaningful way for you, or they come through simply by allowing you to fit a unique combination of players that would otherwise be too expensive.

At the RB position, Ty Johnson and Samaje Perine both have my curiosity. Just make sure that if you use either of these guys, you’re not using a third RB (you don’t want them competing with WRs or TEs of similar price).

Several receivers fit the bill, but Jamison Crowder is my favorite. I like his chances of supplanting Olamide Zaccheaus for the WR3 spot this week as the trusty veteran. And no one is going to use him.
