Monday Night Football Plays: San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams

The Monday Night Football game this week features the 2-1 Los Angeles Rams at the 1-2 San Francisco 49ers. These are two teams that are extremely familiar with one another, playing three times last year with the Rams getting the best of the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

This is an extremely crucial game for both teams, with the Rams looking to get to 3-1 and first place in the division while the 49ers look to get back on track with a big win against a divisional rival.

Here are my two best prop plays for Monday Night Football.

Cooper Kupp Anytime Touchdown Scorer

-110, DraftKings Sportsbook

This is a very simple yet profitable bet. It has cashed every week to start the season, and I expect nothing differently in Week 4. Sean McVay is going to target his go-to guy in a primetime game against a divisional opponent. Cooper Kupp has scored in all three games so far this season in multiple ways, including one rushing touchdown last week against Arizona. Against the Cardinals, Kupp was only targeted six times, which I expect to increase tremendously this week back near his normal 10+ targets. Additionally, the 49ers run defense is the best in the league (2.8 yards per carry), which will mean red-zone passing attempts for the Rams, likely to Kupp.

Matthew Stafford Over 33.5 Passing Attempts

-110, PointsBet

This one comes out with a little sticker shock at 33.5 attempts. However, Matthew Stafford has surpassed that in two of three games this year. Running the ball against the 49ers defense will be extremely difficult for the Rams. McVay knows this, and his answer will be quick passes and screens. McVay is also not afraid to abandon the run game in big games. In the Super Bowl last year, the Rams ran 19 designed run plays and threw the ball 40 times. The short passing game will essentially become an extension of the run game for the Rams. A comparable run defense would be the Bills, and the Rams threw the ball 41 times in that Week 1 matchup. Expect Stafford to get the ball out early and often against a great 49ers front.
