The Denver Broncos look to stay undefeated for the 2021 NFL season after taking down the Giants and Jaguars in Week 1-2. They return home for what should be a cupcake matchup when they host the woeful New York Jets in Week 3. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is leading the offense this year and has been solid with four passing touchdowns, 77% completion percentage and no interceptions through two games. The Broncos are huge home favorites for their Week 3 matchup as 10.5-point chalk vs. the J-E-T-S.

Super Bowl odds update – Denver Broncos

The Broncos have the unfortunate reality of not making the postseason since 2015 — when they last made it, they won the Super Bowl over the Carolina Panthers. Since then, they’re a collective 34-48 in the standings, and entering Week 3 of the 2021 season, the Broncos odds to win Super Bowl 56 have moved slightly to +4000 at BetMGM.

  • Week 3: +4000
  • Week 2: +5000
  • Week 1: +5000
  • Preseason: +5000

Broncos futures odds

The main futures markets to pay attention to for the Denver Broncos are odds to win the AFC West and AFC conference odds.

For the AFC West, they trail the Super Bowl favorite Kansas City Chiefs (-280) and are second in odds at +475 to win the division title. The Chargers trail them at +750 while the Raiders come in last at +1100. They have a shot to surprise some teams, but Denver needs to win games within the division as it finished 1-5 in games against those three squads in 2020.

As for AFC Conference odds, the Broncos are far down the list to get back to the Super Bowl and sit at +2000 odds at BetMGM to pull it off. That’s the 10th-best odds in the conference and seems highly unlikely given the other three teams ahead of them in their own division.

Von Miller NFL Comeback Player of the Year odds

Although he’s a bit past his prime as a game wrecker, Broncos defensive end Von Miller could be a great candidate to bounce back for NFL Comeback Player of the Year. The former Defensive Player of the Year suffered an ankle injury in training camp last season and didn’t play a regular season snap. All reports (and the eye test) in Denver say he’s back to his explosive self and he showed in the first two games that he can still make an impact as he had three sacks and five tackles.

Looking at the Broncos schedule, they’ve got another squad with a below-average offensive line in the Jets, which could put Miller in a very actionable position to lead the NFL in sacks to start the season. If Miller comes out strong and the Broncos are 3-0, he should be in the forefront of the conversation of NFL Comeback Player of the Year. At +2500 odds at BetMGM, it’s worth a bet at this stage.

Denver Broncos betting trends

The Broncos are coming off a season where, even though they finished 5-11 in the standings, they were a reliable spread most weeks. They finished 9-7 against the spread in 2020 and 5-3 ATS in road games. They also added to that winning spread total by winning and covering the spread in Week 1 vs. the Giants and Week 2 vs. the Jaguars.

Totals bettors didn’t find much of an edge for this squad last year as the Broncos had a 8-8 O/U record despite finishing as a bottom-five offense and bottom-10 defense. Oddsmakers were especially sharp in generating lines for the totals in games involving Denver with an average closing total of 44.7. The final score for both Week 1 and Week 2 also fell short of the closing totals

Here are the updated trends from the 2020 season:

  • 9-7 ATS
  • 8-8 on Totals
