The 0-2 New York Jets head into Denver to face Teddy Bridgewater and the 2-0 Broncos in Week 3. The Jets have really struggled to get going offensively and are likely to have a difficult time figuring it out against the vaunted Denver defense. The oddsmakers have the Jets getting crushed in a low scoring affair, and it is hard to feel any differently heading into this game.

Opening odds – Broncos-Jets

After Denver opened as just 5.5-point favorites, the line in this game has skyrocketed to Broncos -10.5. The Broncos have been one of the hottest teams in the league so far, as Teddy Bridgewater’s play has led them to a 2-0 record to start the year. Meanwhile, Zach Wilson working through some rookie struggles, which was extremely clear in his 4-interception performance against the Patriots in week 2. With the two teams heading in very different directions, the oddsmakers have adjusted accordingly.

Quarterback analysis – Teddy Bridgewater vs. Zach Wilson

The Broncos could not have asked for a better start to the year from Teddy Bridgewater. Through two weeks, he is averaging almost 300 passing yards per game while throwing four touchdowns and playing turnover-free football. He also has the Broncos, a team expected to be middle of the pack at best this season, at a 2-0 record. The debate between Teddy B and Drew Lock feels like it was years ago, as the Broncos can comfortably say they made the right decision at this point.

Meanwhile, Zach Wilson and the Jets have had far less success so far this season. Saying Wilson struggled in Week 2 is an understatement, as the rookie threw four interceptions and looked uncomfortable throughout the entire game. The most concerning part of Wilson’s performance was that three of his four picks came against a clean pocket, so it is hard to blame the injury to Mekhi Becton for Wilson’s struggles. You can chalk it up as rookie QBs struggling against Bill Belichick, but it is easy to feel uneasy about Wilson’s start to the season.

Latest Broncos betting news & info

The Broncos have gotten to a hot start against the spread, going 2-0 in the department, in addition to winning both games outright. One of the main reasons for their win in Week 2 was the emergence of Courtland Sutton. Once Jerry Jeudy got injured, there were questions about who would step up in his absence. Well Sutton seems to have answered that question, putting up 9 catches for 159 yards. Questions about whether Sutton is back healthy seem to be answered, and Sutton will look to continue his success in week 3.

So far this season, the Broncos are 0-2 on hitting the over, but that is more a case of good defense than bad offense. The Broncos totals of 27 and 23 were both enough to cover the spread, but their stout defense prevented the overs from hitting.

Latest Jets betting news & info

Jets bettors have not had any success so far this season, evident by their 0-2 record against the spread. However, one positive for the Jets so far has been the play of their defense. The defense is 10th so far in fewest points allowed and ninth in fewest yards allowed. The play of John Franklin-Myers has to have Jets fans excited, as he continues to thrive.

After a terrific Week 1, it was a week to forget for Corey Davis in week 2. He caught just two balls for a measly eight yards and allowed a ball to go right through his hands on Wilson’s second pick of the day. The Jets need Davis and the rest of the offense to step up if they want to have a chance against the Broncos.

Broncos vs. Jets betting picks – NFL Week 3

Don’t expect a lot of points in this game. Two good defenses are facing off against two offences that aren’t going to scare a lot of people. The difference in this game is likely the turnover battle. While Bridgewater is yet to turn it over this year, Wilson has already thrown five picks. If Wilson can hold onto the ball, expect the Jets to keep this game close, but ultimately, the Broncos should win the game.
