The 27-year-old will be sidelined after finishing with five points, six rebounds, and one steal across 32 minutes in a win over the Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Having Hauser out won't make much impact on the Celtics rotation, especially with the return of superstar forwardJayson Tatum(shoulder) after a one-game absence.

Boston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (hip) will re-enter the lineup on Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans. He has been dealing with a pinched nerve in his right hip lately. Hauser offers three-point shooting off the Celtics bench and has been exceptional with his work recently. Across his last four outings, the 27-year-old has made 12 shots from deep with a 60 percent efficiency. The Pelicans allow the seventh-most three-point attempts in the league, so this looks like a very favorable matchup for Hauser and the Celtics, who take the most three-pointers.

Hauser will be missing in action for the second straight game due to a right hip impingement. While Hauser is sidelined, Payton Pritchardwill have an expanded role coming off the bench. Pritchard posted 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal across 31 minutes in Monday's 114-112 loss to the Rockets. He went 5-for-6 from three-point land in the contest. Chicago gives up the third-most three-point attempts in the league, making this an excellent opportunity for the 27-year-old sharpshooter.
