Houston Rockets point guard Fred VanVleet is expected to remain with the team for the 2025-26 season. League sources have told The Athletic's Kelly Iko that the likelihood of VanVleet playing for a different team next season is "slim." The 31-year-old has a $44.9 million player option for next season, but Iko points out that he could also negotiate a new deal with the Rockets at a lower, team-friendly salary. VanVleet's time in Houston has been marked by ups and downs. During his debut season last year, he achieved a career-high of 8.1 assists, but in 2024-25, his numbers declined across most categories, averaging 14.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. He shot just 37.8 percent from the field, his lowest percentage since his rookie year in 2016-17. Fantasy managers will undoubtedly hope for a bounce-back year from VanVleet next season.

Houston Rockets point guard Fred VanVleet is unlikely to suit up for Wednesday's contest against the Los Angeles Clippers, as the team has listed him as doubtful on the injury report. VanVleet is experiencing soreness in his right ankle and looks set to sit out for the second time in four games. Tari Eason was brought into the starting unit when VanVleet missed a 143-105 win against the Utah Jazz on April 2. However, Rockets head coach Ime Udoka might have different plans for Wednesday, as he could also be without Alperen Sengun (back) and Jabari Smith Jr. (groin), who are both considered questionable for the game.

Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports that Houston Rockets guardFred VanVleet (ankle) won't play against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. VanVleet will be out of action due to lingering ankle soreness. The 31-year-old veteran is averaging 14.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game across 57 outings this season. Fantasy managers should expect guard Amen Thompson to soak up some extra minutes with VanVleet on the shelf for this evening's matchup.

On Wednesday, Houston Rockets guardFred VanVleet(ankle) is available to suit up against the Phoenix Suns, Danielle Lerner of The Houston Chronicle reports. The 31-year-old guard has missed 15 of the last 16 games due to a lingering ankle issue. It appears the problem is finally behind him. The 31-year-old's minutes will be limited in his return. That being said, he is probably not a great pick for DFS contests this evening. VanVleet returning to the floor will likely mean decreased minutes forAaron HolidayandCam Whitmore.

Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet (ankle) is listed as probable ahead of Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. VanVleet was able to practice in full on Tuesday, which is a great step forward in his recovery process The 31-year-old guard has missed 15 of the last 16 games due to a lingering ankle issue. It sounds like the issue is finally behind him considering VanVleet is listed as probable on the injury report. The expectation is that VanVleet is going to be under a minutes limit during his first game back. That being said, VanVleet would probably be fine for season-long formats, but avoidable in DFS contests. His return to the court will likely mean decreased roles for Aaron Holiday and Cam Whitmore.
