Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford (knee) was originally expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks but will have to miss even more time. According to Shams Charania and Tim McMahon of ESPN, the big man will miss at least six weeks with a Grade 3 MCL sprain. This leaves the team hurting for frontcourt depth since Anthony Davis (Adductor), Dereck Lively II (ankle), and Dwight Powell (hip) are all out for an extended period of time. Olivier-Maxence Prosper should see a big uptick in minutes along with both Kessler Edwards and Naji Marshall. All three are in streaming territory after the former two joined the starting five and Marshall saw 33 minutes off of the bench in their last game on Thursday.

Olivier-Maxence Prosper and Kylor Kelley will see more minutes on the floor while Gafford is out of action. However, neither player won't make much of an impact fantasy-wise.

But with Anthony Davis (abdomen) not ready to make his Mavericks debut, Gafford should be back in the middle on Tuesday night. He has played well in 24 starts during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 15.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks. It's hard to tell how Davis' arrival will impact Gafford's workload. However, it's reasonable to assume he'll see a dip in minutes and production. For now, he remains worthy of a spot in any fantasy lineup.
