Stephen Curry Just Misses A Double-Double In All-Star Game

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry finished only two assists shy of a double-double in Sunday's All-Star Game. The former MVP added 16 points to his eight assists, shooting 6-for-17 from the field. Nearly all of Curry's attempts came from downtown as the stars went berserk with three-point shooting and combined for 168 attempts from deep. The man with the most three-point makes ever in the NBA finished a 4-for-13 record from behind the arc. Curry has been on a scoring tear lately and appears to be gearing up for a big finish to the season. He's just set a new record with four consecutive games with at least seven makes from downtown, and the Warriors desperately need more big numbers from him to remain in contention for a playoff spot.

The veteran star has been extremely efficient with his work lately, shooting at least 60 percent in three of his last four appearances with the Suns, and the team will need more of the same for the rest of the way, with Phoenix playing catch-up in a battle for a top-four seed in the Western Conference. He missed just four of his 16 efforts from the field all night and also did a bit of playmaking with six assists. This was the second consecutive All-Star appearance for Gilgeous-Alexander, who has developed into one of the league's best two-way players. The young Thunder star averages the third-most points in the league (31.3) and is first in steals (2.2). Karl-Anthony Towns Drops 50 Points In All-Star Game

Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns led all scorers in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday despite the West suffering a 211-186 loss to the East. Towns registered 50 points on 23-for-35 shooting and 4-for-13 from beyond the arc. He also finished with eight rebounds, three assists, and one turnover. Towns, along with the rest of the Western Conference All-Stars, couldn't shoot the three at the same clip as the East as they hit 17 fewer shots from deep. The Timberwolves star still delivered a big scoring night without the three-point barrage like the MVP Damian Lillard. Towns and the Timberwolves will look to hold on to their number-one seed in the West down the stretch of this season.

Damian Lillard Named All-Star Game MVP

Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard protected his three-point contest crown on Saturday's festivities, and followed it up with an MVP performance in the All-Star Game on Sunday. In the 211-186 victory for the East, the veteran point guard finished with 39 points, six assists, three rebounds, and one steal while shooting 14-for-26 from the floor and 11-for-23 from deep. As usual, there wasn't much defense being played in this game, but Lillard broke out of his shooting slump in a big way. Hopefully, this carries over into the final stretch of the season since the Bucks have gone 3-7 since Doc Rivers took over the team.
