Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Records Another 30-Point Performance

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers with 34 points on 14-for-25 shooting as the team clinched a spot in the 2025 NBA Finals with a 124-94 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. The Timberwolves restricted Gilgeous-Alexander to just four free throws in Game 5, but they were still no match for the MVP and his team. Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished 2-for-4 from beyond the arc, recorded his 11th game of the postseason with at least 30 points and still had time to tally eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. He will now begin preparing for his first career Finals appearance, having averaged 29.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.6 steals during the playoffs.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Gets Back on Track with 40-Point Effort

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander returned to MVP form in Monday's Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, putting up a game-high 40 points on 13-for-30 shooting in a 128-126 win. After finishing a blowout loss in Game 3 with a season-low 14 points, Gilgeous-Alexander had the same amount of points racked up already in the first quarter. As usual, he was busy again at the free-throw line, going 12-for-14, and he finished with 2-for-7 shooting from outside. One more rebound would have given Gilgeous-Alexander a 40-point triple-double, as he collected nine boards with 10 assists and one steal. Gilgeous-Alexander had a disappointing night on Saturday, but he's enjoyed a productive series overall, averaging 30.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 8.3 assists, and 1.8 steals.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Named NBA MVP

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named the Most Valuable Player for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday night. SGA, who received 71 first-place votes, 42 more than Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, had a stellar campaign. He appeared in 76 games during the regular season, averaging a career-high 32.7 points with 5.0 boards, 6.4 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks. The 26-year-old also led OKC to a 68-14 record to secure the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Without question, Gilgeous-Alexander has the potential to earn a few more MVP awards moving forward. He'll also be the No. 1 overall fantasy option for many managers heading into the 2025-26 season.
