NBA Best Bets of the Day (1/29)

The NBA has a small four-game slate set up for Sunday. The first game is early at 1 p.m. ET, and the other three tip off between 6 and 7 p.m.. None of them are expected to be highly competitive, with the spread in each game currently sitting at -6.5 or higher. Big spreads are always a yellow caution flag to me, as you can never be sure the starters are going to get a full run or that the game is going to be played at a high pace for the full 48 minutes.

We also have some injury news that can change things in a few games, so make sure to get over to the FTN NBA Discord in order to stay on top of all the updates as we get more news. For now, I am sticking to one game that has a massive 241 total and looking for some points props to take advantage of for my Sunday NBA Best bets.

Best NBA Points Prop Bet(s)

Myles Turner OVER 18.5 points

(-105 BetMGM)

Myles Turner has scored over 20 points in three straight games. This game has a massive 241 total, so points are expected on both sides. Turner has not only raised his points scored lately, but he also has seen a bump in his shot attempts, which gives me confidence the scoring uptick is real. Turner averages 11.5 FGA per game during the season, but in this recent run he has taken 21, 16 and 20 shots. He’s hit at least two 3-point shots in each of the last four games, and that has definitely helped his scoring totals as well.

T.J. McConnell OVER 14.5 Points

(-115 DraftKings)

T.J. McConnell had a couple huge assist games early on when he took over for Tyrese Haliburton. The more consistent stat category for him has been scoring. McConnell has scored at least 18 points in four straight games, clearing his prop number easily each time. This game has a 241 total, so the stat category I want to lean heaviest on today is points, which is why I have two Pacers on the list for scoring props.
