The NBA has scheduled seven total games today even with the NFL being in action. We have two games with a slate that starts at 3:30 p.m. ET and then the five-game main slate. Let’s talk about some stats to get your lineups going today.
1. The Hornets allow 18 points per game to the pick-and-roll ball handler
This is for the early slate, but Trae Young for the Atlanta Hawks is second in field goal attempts per game at 11. He’s only shooting 18.2% early on, and that number should rise today. Both Young and Dejounte Murray are primed to have big games.
2. Jordan Poole has a 42% true shooting rate in two games
In his career, Poole is at 55.7%, so perhaps the new contract is weighing on his shoulders a little bit. There’s no reason to think he suddenly just can’t shoot, and the Kings allow the sixth-highest 3-point conversion rate.
3. Cleveland is allowing the second-highest 3-point percentage
That’s going to help Kyle Kuzma, who has taken 18 attempts through three games and is still under $7,000. Kuzma has played 34 minutes per game so far, and if he can stay on the perimeter away from the defense of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, that’s a bonus.
4. Rudy Gobert has 32.5 rebounding chances per game
The Thunder have done well on the boards so far, as they’re third in rebounding, but that streak is likely to come crashing down. Additionally, they’re in the bottom 10 in rebounds allowed in the paint, and if Rudy Gobert continues to have 10 field goal attempts or more per game, 55-60 DK points become more attainable on a more consistent basis.
5. Zion Williamson is under $9,000
Not only will that not happen very often this year, but the odds of him going 7-of-19 from the field are also not high. He can feast on the Utah interior that lacks Gobert now, and he probably won’t stay at just 30 minutes per game very long either.
