San Francisco Giants infielder Marco Luciano has been recalled from Triple-A ahead of Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 22-year-old former top prospect has failed to live up to the hype at the big league level. He's slashing .262/.333/.400 with one RBI in 31 games between the last two seasons on the Giants roster. To be fair, Luciano has only be given a small sample size, so hopefully he'll get more playing time this time around. He'll bat eighth and cover second base versus right-hander Ryne Nelson on Tuesday. Fantasy managers in redraft formats can use a wait-and-see approach with Luciano.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (undisclosed) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The organization hasn't given a reason as to why Conforto was scratched, so fantasy managers will have to check back for an update. Jerar Encarnacion will take over at designated hitter and bat sixth versus right-hander Ryne Nelson on Tuesday. Through 20 games, Encarnacion is hitting .262 with two home runs and nine RBI this season. However, fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option ahead of Tuesday's game.UPDATE: Conforto was scratched due to side tightness but is expected to play on Wednesday.

San Francisco Giants second baseman Thairo Estrada was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday. The 28-year-old posted a .590 OPS in 381 PA this season, especially struggling over the last couple weeks by posting just a .486 OPS in 35 PA. Estrada had been dealing with a wrist injury he sustained in late July and hasn't quite regained his form from the first half of the season. With Estrada being demoted, Casey Schmitt is in place to get most of the starts at second base. His 82 wRC+ isn't quite that appealing, but it does outpace the production Estrada was giving San Francisco. The Giants also recalled Brett Wisely in a corresponding move with Estrada's demotion. Wisely's 82 wRC+ at the major league level gives the Giants similar production at second base. Only fantasy managers in deeper leagues should even be considering adding Schmitt or Wisely to their lineups. Other fantasy managers needing help at second base can likely find better options on the waiver wire.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski is not in the starting lineup on Thursday for the series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. With Yastrzemski getting a day off, Jerar Encarnacion will make the start in right field for the Gigantes and bat seventh against Brewers right-hander Aaron Civale. The left-handed-hitting Yastrzemski has struggled at the plate of late, going 7-for-34 (.206) with two home runs, two doubles, four RBI and seven strikeouts in his last 10 games since Aug. 17. His OPS is down to .731 on the year while providing a very modest 11 home runs and 42 RBI in 114 games for San Fran. Encarnacion will be a deep DFS sleeper for Thursday's slate. He's played in only 16 games for the Giants this year and has gone 12-for-51 (.235) with two home runs and eight RBI in 54 trips to the plate.

San Francisco Giants manager Bob Melvin said he expects catcher Patrick Bailey (oblique) to come off the 10-day injured list when he's first eligible on Thursday. An oblique strain has kept Bailey out of action since Aug. 18, but he should return as San Fran's primary backstop on Thursday. Veteran Curt Casali will then go back to being the Giants' backup at the position, although he could see more playing time if Bailey continues to struggle like he was before his injury. Before his oblique injury, the 25-year-old switch-hitter had gone just 3-for-57 (.053) with a double, two RBI and 14 strikeouts in his previous 16 games played. The poor stretch knocked his season slash line down to .233/.299/.344 with a weak .642 OPS to go along with seven home runs, 38 RBI and 37 runs scored on the year. It's been an uninspiring season for Bailey.
