Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy went 2-for-2 with a single and a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Mets. The 34-year-old also walked three times in the contest, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Muncy has now homered in back-to-back games and it was his third home run of this postseason. If the 2x All-Star plays versus the LHP Jose Quintana on Thursday, he's had success against him in the past, going 2-for-9 with a home run and four walks against the veteran southpaw.
Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy (side) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres. The left-handed slugger was scratched from Sunday's game due to soreness in his side. The Dodgers had a scheduled off day on Monday, which appears to have been enough for Muncy to get fully healthy. He'll cover third base and bat sixth versus right-hander Michael King. Muncy has been limited to 68 games this season, but he does have 15 home runs to his name. His ability to go deep gives him viable fantasy value.
Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy will out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins. This is a much-needed day off for Muncy who has started in each of the last 10 games. The Dodgers also face a left-hander in Ryan Weathers, so probably not a bad time to give Muncy a day off. In his place, Kike Hernandez will cover third base and bat eighth versus Weathers. Hernandez has been quiet at the plate with a .214 batting average in 116 games this season.
Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and a strikeout in the team's 9-2 win over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday at Truist Park. Muncy's 15th home run of the season was a solo shot and came off reliever John Brebbia in the ninth inning in a frame in which the Dodgers exploded for three long balls and seven total runs. Since returning from a lengthy stint on the injured list due to an oblique injury on Aug. 19, the 34-year-old Muncy has hit .231 (15-for-65) with six home runs, four doubles, 12 RBI, 13 walks and 15 runs scored in 22 games (20 starts). Four of his six long balls have come in the last seven games, so Muncy is definitely heating up at the right time for an already potent and explosive Dodgers lineup. Muncy is not going to provide average help for fantasy managers, but you can't argue with his power and RBI opps in this Dodgers offense.
Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy is out of the starting lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. It's uncertain if Muncy is sitting because of a left-hander being on the mound or if this is a routine rest day. Obviously, Muncy will have limited fantasy value if he continues to sit out against all lefty starters. Kike Hernandez will cover the hot corner and bat ninth against southpaw Tyler Alexander. Hernandez is having a down year at the plate with a .210 batting average and only two hits in his last five games. Fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option for Friday's slate.
