Philadelphia Phillies infielder Edmundo Sosa collected four hits and finished 4-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI, and his first home run of the season, while helping his team rally past the Rockies 9-3. The Phillies totaled 17 hits in the game but were actually trailing 3-1 after six innings. Sosa singled and scored in the eighth inning as the Phillies took a 6-3 lead, and he tacked on two insurance runs with his home run off Scott Alexander in the ninth. The home run was Sosa's first of the year after he hit seven homers in 90 games last season. The utilityman is hitting an impressive .386 in his 23 games this season and could earn more playing time if he keeps hitting for such a great average and chipping in power as well. When he's in the lineup, he's definitely usable as a DFS value, and if he gets enough playing time, he could emerge as a mixed-league option as well.

Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson sounds inclined to find more at-bats for infielder Edmundo Sosa, even when the team isn't facing a left-handed starter. Sosa will be in the lineup on Tuesday against the division-rival Atlanta Braves with left-hander Chris Sale on the mound, but it remains to be seen who he'll replace. It could come in the outfield to replace either Brandon Marsh or Max Kepler. The catch is that the Phillies aren't seeking platoon roles for Marsh, Kepler or even second baseman Bryson Stott, but Sosa brings energy to the squad and is well respected in the locker room. The 29-year-old is 11-for-20 with four doubles, five strikeouts and a walk to begin the season and will be a nice low-cost sleeper option in DFS when he's in the lineup, just maybe not this Tuesday against the reigning National League Cy Young winner.

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Edmundo Sosa could have an increased role in the outfield. Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reported that with outfielder Weston Wilson (oblique) sidelined, the Phillies could turn to Sosa. Throughout the early part of camp, Sosa has been doing work with the outfielders but has only made three big league starts at this position. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his deployment during spring training games, as he may eventually become a depth outfielder on the roster. Last summer, the 28-year-old made all 90 of his starts in the infield and posted a .257/.313/.422 line with seven home runs and seven stolen bases. If Sosa were to shift to the outfield, he would likely operate as a depth option and could see occasional starts in left and center field.
