Philadelphia Phillies infielderBryson Stottwas the hero of the day in the team's 8-3 over the Miami Marlins on Saturday as his bases-clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning broke the game open. Stott, who finished 2-for-5 with a run scored, added his fourth RBI of the day with an infield single in the top of the eighth to boost his batting average to .257 this season. Over the past 15 games, the second baseman has driven in 16 runs while sporting a .400 OBP, making him a must-start in all league formats.
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Brandon Marsh find themselves on the bench for Friday's contest against Miami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers. Cristian Pache is in left field for the Phillies and is batting in the eight-hole, while Whit Merrifield will play second base and bat sixth against Rogers. Stott is carrying a .250/.344/.389 slash line with three homers, 19 RBI, eight steals and 19 runs in 108 at-bats so far in 2024. Marsh will be out for the first time since May 1. The 26-year-old is batting .254 (30-for-118) with six homers, 20 RBI, five steals and 13 runs this year. Merrifield is the more realistic DFS sleeper target on Friday. He's never faced Rogers in his career and is hitting .237 (14-for-59) on the year with two homers, four RBI and four stolen bases.
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott put the team on his back in an 8-6 win over the San Diego Padres on Sunday. Stott finished the day going 2-for-3 with two homers and a stolen base. He also scored three runs and drove in four. It was a blistering day at the dish for the 26-year-old, who sorely needed it after a tough start to the season. The homers were just his second and third of the season and the stolen base was his fourth. Stott has 20/20 upside that was on full display Sunday, so he should be held onto in most leagues.
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott and outfielder Brandon Marsh are not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Marsh and Stott will sit against Pirates left-hander Marco Gonzales. Stott and Marsh should be available off the bench to pinch-hit in Saturday's contest. Cristian Pache replaces Marsh in left field and is batting eighth, while Edmundo Sosa is batting sixth and handling the keystone. Pache has appeared in three games and has yet to collect a hit over four plate appearances. Sosa is hitting a robust .750 (3-for-4) with a homer over three games. Pache can be avoided in all fantasy leagues, while Sosa can be used as a streamer in a plus matchup versus Gonzales for Saturday's slate.
Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Thursday's victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates. His home run would be the first of the season. Stott is coming off a career year in 2023, but has struggled early on in 2024 with a .220 batting average and five RBI. The good news is that he has stolen two bases and the better news is that the season is very young. Stott hitting at the bottom of the order isn't ideal for managers, but he is in a good Phillies lineup and shouldn't have a problem scoring runs or knocking them in. As it stands, Stott remains a serviceable second baseman that can help in multiple categories moving forward.
