2024 Team Stats

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds had a gigantic day at the plate, recording four hits and six RBI with two home runs in the Pirates' 14-2 win over the New York Mets on Friday. Reynolds improved his OPS to .831 and now has 16 HR on the season. The switch-hitter has been very good since June, notching a hit in all but two games since June 1st, going 42-124 with nine HR. Reynolds continues to get better as the season goes on and has an xwOBA in the 79th percentile. Fantasy managers should continue to start Reynolds as often as possible. He'll continue to get decent chances to weekend against Mets starters David Peterson, Sean Manaea and Christian Scott.

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Jalen Beeks recorded the final four outs in Thursday's victory versus the Milwaukee Brewers to record his seventh save of the season. Beeks faced the minimum of four batters and recorded one strikeout in his outing. The Rockies haven't officially named a closer and this was the lefties first save since May 31. With the Rockies bullpen being a mess and not many save opportunities being around to gobble up, Beeks can safely remain on the waiver wire in all formats with Tyler Kinley and Justin Lawrence still in the mix to earn saves.

Boston Red Sox second base prospect Nick Yorke is off to a good start at Triple-A Worcester since his promotion. Yorke has played 23 games for Triple-A and is hitting .337 with four homers and 15 RBI with a .968 OPS. The Red Sox' No. 6 prospect profiles as a pure hitter with plus power. The first-round pick of Boston in the 2020 draft hit two homers with five RBI on July 2 to continue to build off a productive June in which he hit .342 with two homers and 10 RBI. The 22-year-old could be pushing for a promotion if he continues this stretch of production.

Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz sent the fans home happy in Wednesday night's win over the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals, delivering a walk-off single in the 10th inning. Cruz ripped a walk-off single off Cardinals left-hander JoJo Romero to right field, giving the Pirates a 5-4 victory in extra innings. Over 312 plate appearances in 2024, the 25-year-old former top prospect is slashing a somewhat disappointing .240/.295/.427 with 12 dingers, 37 RBI, and six stolen bases. Despite the subpar batting average, Cruz still has plenty of upside as a rare power/speed threat a premium position in fantasy baseball.

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Rowdy Tellez tallied three hits and homered in Wednesday night's walk-off win over the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals. Tellez swatted a solo homer off Cardinals right-hander Giovanny Gallegos down the left-field line, extending the Pirates' lead to 3-1 in the seventh inning on Wednesday. In his last 21 games (72 at-bats), the 29-year-old righty masher is batting a strong .361 with four round-trippers and 15 RBI. Tellez should continue routinely sitting against left-handed pitching, so while those are appealing numbers, he doesn't garner enough playing time to be useful outside of deeper fantasy leagues.
