2024 Team Stats

Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is being dropped to eighth in the batting order for Tuesday's divisional clash against the visiting Atlanta Braves and right-hander Spencer Strider. It's the first time that Realmuto has hit this low in a batting order since the 2022 season, but it's justified, as the 34-year-old veteran is showing signs of his age by hitting .232/.303/.381 with five home runs, 19 RBI, 18 runs scored and four steals in his 168 at-bats in 2025. He's gone 5-for-29 (.172) with a homer, double, three RBI, three runs, no walks and nine strikeouts in his last six games. As Realmuto works to break out of his season-long funk, he's currently working to improve his timing at the plate. He'll be a poor DFS choice on Tuesday against Strider, too, who he's hit .133 against in 15 career at-bats.

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker will make another start this Friday in the series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers, according to manager Rob Thomson. Right-hander Aaron Nola (ankle) isn't quite ready to return from the 15-day injured list, so Walker will stick around for another turn through the starting rotation at Citizens Bank Park. In his first start since May 1, Walker picked up his second win of the year on May 21 by allowing three earned runs in five innings while walking two and striking out two at the Colorado Rockies. The matchup against the Brewers is a good one -- they rank 25th in MLB with a .664 OPS -- and Walker has an ERA under 3.00 in his 39 1/3 innings pitched. While his 19.2% strikeout rate is an improvement over the last two years, it's still below-average, and his 3.76 FIP means some regression is likely coming.

Toronto Blue Jays right-handed reliever Jeff Hoffman has a 6.04 ERA and three blown saves in his last seven appearances, but manager John Schneider said he's not worried. "Just in talking with him, he's in a good spot," Schneider said. "I think that, you know, the life of a reliever and a high-leverage reliever is bumpy." The 32-year-old veteran is striking out a career-best 13.7 batters per nine innings, but he's allowed five home runs in his first 22 1/3 innings pitched. Hoffman has had a home run rate of 6.8% the last three years, so his current rate of 30% will surely normalize in the coming months. Additionally, his control has been just as good as it was during his All-Star campaign a season ago, so Hoffman's surface stats shouldn't have fantasy manager panicking at this time. He picked up his sixth save of the season in the team's 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Monday.

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner kept rolling Sunday with a multi-hit performance in a 5-4 loss to the Athletics. He finished 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. While Turner entered the week hitting a decent .294/.352/.378, he then went a scorching 12-for-32 with three homers, two doubles, a triple, and four stolen bases over seven games. In the aftermath of that otherworldly stretch, Turner is slashing .310/.365/.443 with five homers, 23 RBI, and 14 steals through 230 plate appearances. The 31-year-old will look to carry this past week's success into a new week during Tuesday's matchup against Atlanta Braves right-hander Spencer Strider. However, that may be a tall order for Turner. He hasn't had any success versus Strider, having gone an unsightly 0-for-17 with two strikeouts, no walks, and a hit by pitch against him.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola (ankle) has not progressed as quickly as the team has hoped. Nola has been sidelined with a right ankle sprain and was placed on the injured list on May 15. Nola was initially expected to throw a bullpen this weekend in Sacramento, but it appears he has not progressed enough to take the next step in his recovery. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status, but Nola may not return to action as quickly as the team had hoped. Before his injury, Nola struggled as he posted a high 6.16 ERA with a 1.51 WHIP across 49 2/3 innings of work. During this stint, Nola struck out 52 batters but generated a high 4.94 xERA and a .284 xBA. While Nola remains out, fantasy managers should expect Taijuan Walker to remain in the starting rotation.
