Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber went 3-for-3 with a home run and a triple in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Atlanta Braves. He drove in three runs, scored twice, and drew a walk in the contest. Schwarber had another two hard-hit balls in this one -- both off Braves pitcher Chris Sale. His triple was a 105.1 MPH laser that bounced off the base of the right-center-field wall. Then, he blasted a Sale four-seam fastball 462 feet at 116.7 MPH over the right field wall in the top of the fifth inning. The 32-year-old has been blistering at the dish, batting .324 (12-for-37) with one double, one triple, and five homers -- tying him for second in the MLB.

The Chicago White Sox reinstated left-hander Tyler Gilbert (knee) from the 15-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned left-hander Brandon Eisert to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Gilbert made two minor-league rehab appearances at Charlotte last week before the White Sox felt he was ready to join their big-league bullpen. The 31-year-old veteran southpaw won't be on the fantasy radar as he operates in a middle-relief role for the Pale Hose. He had a 3.24 ERA (4.85 FIP) and 1.44 WHIP with four strikeouts and two walks in six relief appearances over 8 1/3 innings for the Philadelphia Phillies in the majors in 2024. Over the course of his four-year big-league career (three with the Arizona Diamondbacks), Gilbert has posted a 4.23 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 68:30 K:BB in an even 100 innings over 34 outings (13 starts).

Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (back) will start a minor-league rehab assignment and will pitch three innings for Low-A Clearwater on Thursday, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb. It will be Suarez's first game action since he was shut down in mid-March in spring training with lower-back stiffness. The 29-year-old southpaw will need at least several more rehab starts on the farm before he's a candidate to make his 2025 regular season debut in the big leagues, which will likely come in early May. The Venezuelan hurler also missed extensive time in 2024 with a back injury and wasn't as sharp when he returned, but he still finished with a serviceable 3.46 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 145:41 K:BB in 150 2/3 innings over his 27 starts. When healthy, Suarez is worth rostering in all fantasy leagues as a ground-ball pitcher, but his below-average 21.8% strikeout rate leaves little in the way of upside.

Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson sounds inclined to find more at-bats for infielder Edmundo Sosa, even when the team isn't facing a left-handed starter. Sosa will be in the lineup on Tuesday against the division-rival Atlanta Braves with left-hander Chris Sale on the mound, but it remains to be seen who he'll replace. It could come in the outfield to replace either Brandon Marsh or Max Kepler. The catch is that the Phillies aren't seeking platoon roles for Marsh, Kepler or even second baseman Bryson Stott, but Sosa brings energy to the squad and is well respected in the locker room. The 29-year-old is 11-for-20 with four doubles, five strikeouts and a walk to begin the season and will be a nice low-cost sleeper option in DFS when he's in the lineup, just maybe not this Tuesday against the reigning National League Cy Young winner.

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cristopher Sanchez let up four runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings of work in Sunday's 8-7 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sanchez was saddled with a no-decision, but he pitched well, striking out nine Dodgers and allowing one free pass. The 28-year-old threw 60 of 88 pitches for strikes, inducing 15 swings-and-misses in the outing (seven with his slider). It was another strong effort for the fifth-year pro, who is striking out 34% out of the batters he's faced in 2025. Sanchez's chase percentage currently sits in the 87th percentile of all big-leaguers, and his 4.09 ERA should come down if he continues to pitch to his metrics (3.23 xERA). His next projected start comes this weekend, squaring off with the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
