Baltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle tallied three hits in the team's 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Mountcastle is off to a great start in 2024, which continued in Sunday's contest. The first baseman started off his day with a double to right field in the first inning and then doubled home Adley Rutschman in the fourth inning to get the O's on the board. He also singled in the ninth inning to cap off his first three-hit day of the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old is now hitting .294 at the plate with one home run and eight RBI in the first nine games of the season. He should be rostered in every format in fantasy going forward, given his upside in a top offense in baseball.

Seattle Mariners pitcher Emerson Hancock could have his turn in the rotation skipped after struggling in his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. Hancock has taken over the Mariners' fifth spot in the rotation with the injury to Bryan Woo (elbow inflammation). But, the right-hander was hit hard in his last start, giving up eight runs on 11 hits with one walk and six strikeouts across 3.1 innings pitched. Not only was he hit hard, but his velocity dip was noticeable, according to Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports. Hancock was consistently hitting 97 mph on his two-seam fastball and 90 mph on his changeup in spring training. However, he averaged just 92.9 mph on that fastball on Sunday and 87.3 mph on that changeup. With the Mariners having an off-day on Thursday, they wouldn't need Hancock to pitch again until Tuesday, April 16.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Andy Pages went 3-for-5 with two runs and a two-run homer for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. The 23-year-old out of Cuba is now hitting a healthy .270 with three RBI and two stolen bases to go along with home run. Pages has shown plenty of power since being signed by the Dodgers at age 18. If it were not for a torn labrum after just 34 games in 2023, it is possible that Pages may have gotten an opportunity at some point to help the Dodgers. Pages has a knack for being able to draw walks and that plus his power could mean big things at the next level. His biggest issue is that he is employed by one of the best rosters in the game, but if an injury opens things up or he becomes dealt, he could provide value to managers. For now, he remains best valued in dynasty leagues and a name for redraft managers to keep an eye on.

Seattle Mariners middle infield prospect Colt Emerson went 2-for-4 with a walk and solo home run for Single-A Modesto on Sunday. The club's 2023, first-round pick, Emerson has now homered twice in just three games. The 18-year-old has made a big impression since being selected 22nd overall this past season. In just 24 games between Rookie Ball and Single-A, Emerson hit an astounding .374 with two homers, 10 doubles and 13 RBI. He also swiped eight bags in the process. The youngster has good contact skills and if his power continues to grow, the Mariners may have a star on their hands. For now, only dynasty league managers should be considering Emerson as he is likely a few seasons away from contributing at the big-league level.

Minnesota Twins infielder Jose Miranda was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of the team's matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. With right-handed pitcher Daniel Duarte heading to the 15-day injured list with a triceps strain, Minnesota called up Miranda to help an offense that has scored just 12 runs over the last 45 innings. The third baseman bounced around the majors and minors last season and only hit .211 with three home runs and 13 RBI across 40 games with the Twins. As a result, he isn't a player that fantasy managers should be running to the waiver wire to pick up. However, in his last full season in 2022, he hit a respectable .268 at the plate with 15 HRs and 66 RBI across 125 games. So, he could be a player to consider in extremely deep formats.
