Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Brandon Barriera (arm) had to be removed from his start in Single-A Dunedin on Saturday after sustaining an apparent arm injury. The lefty threw a pitch in the second inning, then walked back over the back of the mound and threw the ball down at the ground in disgust before crouching down in pain. The 20-year-old is the Blue Jays' No. 4 ranked prospect and was Toronto's first-round pick in the 2022 draft. This news won't affect fantasy managers in 2024 but if those in dynasty leagues may want to keep an eye on Barriera's diagnosis in the coming days.

Toronto Blue Jays relieverErik Swanson(forearm) is slated to throw one inning for Single-A Dunedin on Sunday. The Blue Jays will assess Swanson's next steps after his outing. The 30-year-old is eligible to come off the injured list on Tuesday, but he may need another outing before being activated. Swanson injured himself in spring training and hasn't been active for any of Toronto's games so far. His return will be welcomed by the Blue Jays as an essential piece to their bullpen, putting up a 2.97 ERA in his 2023 season. Fantasy managers in leagues that reward for the category saves and holds should continue to stash Swanson on their rosters.

Colorado Rockies outfielderKris Bryant(back) is out of the lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday. Rockies manager Bud Black stated he was keeping Bryant out of the lineup as he's dealing with a stiff lower back. This doesn't currently appear to be a severe injury, and Bryant should be considered day-to-day. The 32-year-old has been notably quiet at the plate to start the season, hitting just .120 (3-for-25) with one HR on the season. With Bryant playing multiple positions for the Rockies this season,Michael Toglia(outfield) andElehuris Montero(first base) are likely beneficiaries of his absence. Toglia and Montero are in the Rockies lineup on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. (hip) was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hip flexor strain on Saturday. Robert sustained the injury in the ninth inning of Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. According to White Sox manager Pedro Grifol, Robert has no current timetable for return, and he expects his absence to be "longer than ten days." Without a clear picture of the White Sox slugger's return, fantasy managers will need to pivot. Dominic Fletcherwill start in center field on Saturday night, whileKevin Pillarwill start in right field. Pillar is the leading candidate to receive more consistent playing time in Robert's absence, with Fletcher sliding over from right field to center field.

Tampa Bay Rays second basemanBrandon Lowe (side) is back in the lineup on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies. Lowe left Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers when he started feeling left-side tightness and came off the bench in Friday's game versus Colorado. The 28-year-old has gotten off to a slow start this season, hitting only .158 (3-for-19) in 21 PA. He'll get a matchup against Ryan Feltneron Saturday in hitter-friendly Coors Field. Lowe has hit significantly better against right-handers in his career, and a matchup against Feltner at Coors Field may help get him back on the right track.
