Bo Bichette Back In The Lineup Tuesday

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (neck) said he's feeling better and will be back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Houston Astros and left-hander Framber Valdez. The left side of Bichette's neck was tight the last couple of days, limiting his ability to turn and see the pitcher, but his neck has improved and he thinks he's ready to help the team on Tuesday. The 26-year-old All-Star missed the last two games with a tweaked neck, but now that he's returning, fantasy managers in single-year leagues need to get Bichette back in their lineups. Those in DFS contests might want to hold off. Bichette is off to a 2-for-12 start on the season with two RBI in his first three games before tweaking his neck. In 10 career at-bats against Valdez, Bichette has three hits (one homer) and two RBI.

Simeon Woods Richardson Set To Start On Tuesday

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher prospect Simeon Woods Richardson will make his season debut for Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday. Woods Richardson was once a highly touted prospect and brought along with Austin Martin for Jose Berrios a few seasons ago. The 23-year=old has dealt with injuries and unimpressive results thus far and is no longer a consensus Top-100 prospect, but that doesn't mean that he can't correct his trajectory with a strong season. The Twins have some good depth with starting pitchers, so it's likely it would take a few injuries or dominance on the mound for Woods Richardson to get the promotion. A former big name in dynasty leagues, Woods Richardson is worth keeping an eye on, but can safely be on the waiver wire.

Colson Montgomery Looks To Shake Off Slow Start

Chicago White Sox shortstop prospect Colson Montgomery will look to correct his slow start against fellow shortstop prospect Jackson Holliday in Tuesday's Triple-A matchup. Montgomery, 22, is one of the games top prospects and is getting his first taste of Triple-A this season. So far, the shortstop is just 2-for-12 with one walk, one RBI and four strikeouts. It's a very small sample size and Tuesday's contest may be some added motivation against Holliday. In 64 games between Rookie Ball and Double-A in 2023, Montgomery hit .287 with eight homers and 37 RBI. The youngster projects to be a good power hitter with good average at the shortstop position and given the fact that the White Sox have one of the worst rosters in the league, it would be wise for them to allow Montgomery to get a chance in the show at some point this season. He may have more value in dynasty leagues than redraft leagues due to opportunity in 2024, but if called up, managers should snag the left-handed hitter.

Javier Baez Not Playing Tuesday

Detroit Tigers shortstop Javier Baez is out of the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against the New York Mets. In his place, Zach McKinstry will start at shortstop and bat ninth versus Mets right-hander Adrian Houser. Baez could already use a break early in the year after going just 3-for-16 (.188) with an RBI, stolen base, run scored and six strikeouts in his first four games in 2024. The 31-year-old has fallen far since signing a six-year, $140 million deal with Detroit before the 2022 season. About the only thing Baez did well last year was to lower his strikeout rate a bit. McKinstry is a low-upside dart throw at the shortstop position in DFS while hitting at the bottom of the order. He's never faced Houser in his career.

Gavin Williams To Throw Bullpen During Mariners Series

Cleveland Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams (elbow) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session this week during the series against the Seattle Mariners that ends on Wednesday. Williams landed on the injured list to begin the 2024 regular season after dealing with right-elbow inflammation in the middle of spring training in March. The 24-year-old will hopefully embark on a minor-league rehab assignment shortly after he gets back on the mound. Barring setbacks on his rehab assignment, he has a chance to make his season debut before the end of April. The former 23rd overall pick in 2021 out of East Carolina went 3-5 with a solid 3.29 ERA and 1.26 WHIP with 37 walks and 81 strikeouts in 82 innings in his first 16 major-league starts in 2023, so he will have a rotation spot waiting for him when he's ready.
