Reese Olson Goes on Injured List With Finger Injury

The Detroit Tigers placed right-hander Reese Olson (finger) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with a right ring-finger injury and recalled right-hander Chase Lee from the minors in a corresponding move, according to The Detroit News' Chris McCosky. It's bad news for the Tigers and fantasy managers for a pitcher that has been lights-out of late, and it's unclear if he'll be ready to return from the IL when he's eligible on June 2. The 25-year-old threw six shutout innings with only one hit allowed, one walk and six strikeouts in a no-decision his last time out on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Olson has been outstanding in his last six starts, posting a 1.60 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with 38 punchouts and 11 walks over 33 2/3 frames. Fantasy managers will want to hang onto him while he recovers. McCosky writes that the Tigers will go with a bullpen game on Wednesday against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Andy Pages Sitting in Series Opener Against Arizona

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages will start on the bench for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium with Teoscar Hernandez (groin) returning from the 10-day injured list. Hyeseong Kim will make the start in center field and bat ninth against Arizona right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. This will be Pages' first game off in a month, and he should continue to see regular playing time despite Hernandez's return. The 24-year-old Cuban has been great for the Dodgers and fantasy managers so far in 2025, hitting .280/.333/.494 with an .827 OPS, nine home runs, 27 RBI, 23 runs scored and five stolen bases in 164 at-bats. Pages has hit .265 (18-for-68) in the month of May, including three home runs in his last five games. Kim has gone 14-for-31 (.452) in his first 14 MLB games, but he'll have minimal DFS upside on Monday in the nine-hole.

Teoscar Hernandez Activated and Starting on Monday

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Monday that they activated outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (groin) from the 10-day injured list and optioned outfielder James Outman to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Hernandez is right back in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks, starting in right field and batting fifth against D-backs right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. The 32-year-old veteran is returning from a Grade 1 adductor strain after playing in just one minor-league rehab game on Saturday with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. Despite missing time with his injury, Hernandez is tied for 10th in the big leagues with 34 RBI. The Dominican outfielder should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups immediately. In seven career at-bats against Pfaadt, he's hitting .286 with a .572 OPS.

J.T. Ginn Reinstated and Starting on Monday

The Athletics announced on Monday that they reinstated right-hander J.T. Ginn (elbow) from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-hander Anthony Maldonado to Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Ginn will make the start in Monday's series opener against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels at Sutter Health Park. The 25-year-old is returning from a stint on the IL due to inflammation in his right elbow. He only went 3 1/3 innings in his lone minor-league rehab start last Wednesday with Triple-A Las Vegas, so although the matchup against the Halos is a good one in his return to the starting rotation, Ginn will most likely be on a pitch-count limit on Monday. In three starts in 2025 before getting hurt, Ginn had allowed seven earned runs on 15 hits (four homers) while walking six and fanning 15 in 13 2/3 frames. Those looking for a streamer should probably stay away.

Jonathan India Back as the DH on Monday

Kansas City Royals infielder/outfielder Jonathan India (knee) is back in the starting nine for Monday's series opener in the Bay Area against the hosting San Francisco Giants and left-hander Robbie Ray, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff for KC. India will be back in action to begin the week after he was scratched from Sunday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals with soreness in his knee. It obviously wasn't a very serious injury, as he's back in there a day later. The 28-year-old former fifth overall pick by the Cincinnati Reds out of Florida has contributed very little for fantasy managers in his first year with the Royals to this point, slashing a weak .238/.330/.311 with only one homer, 12 RBI and 17 runs scored in 164 at-bats. India has gone hitless in just two career at-bats against Ray, but he's better in May, hitting .274 (17-for-62) with his only homer, four doubles and seven RBI in 15 games.
