Tanner Houck Pitches Well In No-Decision On Thursday

Boston Red Sox right-hander Tanner Houck turned in a quality start in a 4-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday. Houck allowed one run on four hits over seven innings while striking out six but had to settle for a no-decision in the contest. The outing was encouraging for the veteran hurler, who has struggled in 2025, posting a 0-2 record, 6.38 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts over 36 2/3 innings of work. Houck has been a reliable fantasy starting pitcher over much of his career, so fantasy managers will want to stay patient with him despite the early-season struggles.

Zac Gallen Strikes Out Eight In Win On Thursday

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Zac Gallen turned in an excellent start in a 4-2 win over the New York Mets on Thursday. Gallen allowed one run on two hits over six innings of work while striking out eight and walking three. His only mistake in the contest was a solo homer to Juan Soto in the sixth inning. Gallen has been off to a rough start in 2025, posting a 2-4 record, 4.93 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 43 strikeouts over 38 1/3 innings of work. That being said, he has a strong track record over his career, so fantasy managers will want to stay patient with him. Hopefully his taming of a tough Mets lineup on Thursday is the first step in the right direction for Gallen.

Sean Burke Picks Up Win On Thursday

Chicago White Sox right-hander Sean Burke turned in a quality start in his team's 8-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. Burke threw six scoreless innings, scattering two hits while walking three and striking out five to improve his record to 2-4 on the season. The 25-year-old hurler now has a 4.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 25 strikeouts over 33 innings of work this season. His low strikeout rate, coupled with him pitching for a lowly White Sox team, doesn't make him a very attractive fantasy option moving forward.

Jose Trevino Homers, Drives In Three In Win Over Cardinals

Cincinnati Reds catcher Jose Trevino had a big game in his team's 9-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Trevino went 1-for-3 with a homer and three RBI to help power the Reds to the lopsided victory. The veteran catcher kicked off the scoring in the game with a two-run homer in the second inning and later added a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Trevino is now hitting .324 with three homers, 15 runs, and nine RBI across 68 at-bats for the Reds. The backstop has not been known for his bat over his career, so it is unlikely he will keep his average above .300, but he's hitting .333 with two homers over his past seven games. Trevino is worth streaming in deep leagues during this mini hot streak if you need help at the catcher position.

Gleyber Torres Stays Hot On Thursday

Detroit Tigers second baseman Gleyber Torres had another big game in a 10-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. Torres went 3-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk to help propel Detroit to the win. The veteran infielder has now homered in two of his past three contests as he looks to heat up in May. Torres is now hitting .300 with four homers, 13 runs, 15 RBI, and four steals across 80 at-bats this season. He has been especially hot of late, with a .333 average, two homers, and eight RBI over his past seven games. Torres should be locked into fantasy lineups while he's on a hot streak at the plate.
