Mike Trout Knocks In Two Runs

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout has been a stud early in the season. On Saturday, Trout kicked off the scoring with a two-run single off Ryan Gusto in the opening frame. Trout didn't do much more in this game, but was involved in an odd play where the fan appeared to take the ball out of his glove. The 33-year-old has been awesome early in the season with six home runs and 14 RBI with eight walks as well. The biggest problem for Trout has been staying healthy, but he's one of the best hitters in the league when he plays.

Sandy Alcantara Has Shaky Start On Saturday

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara didn't have a ton of success during Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals. He retired the first nine batters he faced before running into trouble in the fourth inning. Alcantara struggled allowing four runs over the next few innings. He would finish his day with four earned runs on five hits while walking four batters across 5 1/3 innings of work. Alcantara was given enough run support to earn the win, but it wasn't a pretty start from him. The hope is that Alcantara will get back on track against the Arizona Diamondbacks in his next start.

J.T. Ginn Looks Solid In Season Debut

Athletics starting pitcher J.T. Ginn got the call for Saturday's game after posting two excellent performances in Triple-A to begin the season. He didn't have an easy task against the New York Mets, but Ginn did well in this one. Ginn tossed five shutout innings before giving up a solo home run to Brandon Nimmo in the sixth inning. He would finish his day allowing one run on four hits while striking out six batters in the win. The expectation is that Ginn will stick in the rotation to face the Milwaukee Brewers next week. He could be worth a look as a low-end streaming option for that game.

Matt Mervis, Graham Pauley Sitting Against Southpaw

Miami Marlins first baseman Matt Mervis and third baseman Graham Pauley are not in the starting lineup for Sunday's contest against the Washington Nationals as they will face left-hander MacKenzie Gore. Mervis has typically taken a backseat throughout the early part of the campaign. Over his last seven contests, he has been quite productive at the plate, posting a .360/.400/.909 slash line with four long balls. Instead, Eric Wagman will cover first base, which opens up the designated hitter spot for Jonah Bride. Pauley has only made two starts this season against left-handed pitching. He has been in a bit of a slump at the plate, holding a .138 AVG over his last eight games. Instead, Javier Sanoja will get the nod at the hot corner. The Marlins' offense is not worth targeting in DFS facing Gore in this matchup.

Brooks Lee Activated Off Injured List, Starting On Sunday

Minnesota Twins infielder Brooks Lee (back) was activated off the injured list prior to Sunday's contest against the Detroit Tigers. He is set to make his season debut this afternoon against the Tigers. He will bat eighth and cover the hot corner. In a corresponding move, the Twins optioned infielder Jose Miranda to Triple-A St. Paul. Miranda enjoyed a productive 2024 season, posting a .284/.322/.441 slash line but was unable to find his footing early in the 2025 campaign. Through the first 12 games, he has held a .167 AVG with just one extra-base hit. Fantasy managers should expect Lee to see several opportunities in the starting nine on a daily basis, given his ability to play third base, second base, and shortstop. Last summer, Lee held a .221/.265/.320 line during his rookie campaign.
