Detroit Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal tossed a gem in a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Skubal threw seven shutout innings, allowing three hits while striking out seven and walking one to earn the win. The 27-year-old forced an impressive 19 swinging strikes in the start to improve his record to 9-3 on the season. Skubal is putting together an excellent season, posting a 2.32 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 112 strikeouts over 97 innings of work. He has developed into a frontline fantasy starting pitcher who should be in starting lineups whenever he takes the mound.

New York Mets outfielder Harrison Bader got in on the action in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Yankees, going 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run, and a stolen base. Bader drilled a second-inning Gerrit Cole fastball deep into the left-field seats for his fifth HR of the season. The 30-year-old is putting together a solid season after a few disappointing ones, slashing .272/.319/.404 with 29 runs scored, 28 RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 232 plate appearances. He does not play as much against lefties due to poor performance, which limits his fantasy value. However, Bader's speed makes him a worthwhile fantasy option in roto leagues, and he will remain even more of an asset if he continues to hit for average.

New York Yankees Gerrit Cole was anything but sharp in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Mets. The 33-year-old was making just his second start of the season after serving time on the injured list with nerve irritation and edema in his right elbow. After an encouraging season opener, Cole lasted just four innings in this one, allowing six runs on seven hits (including four home runs) and four walks with no strikeouts. Fantasy managers should not overreact to the poor outing, as Cole is the reigning American League Cy Young Award winner and has been one of fantasy's top pitchers for many seasons. He will have a good opportunity to right the ship in his next start, which is scheduled to be at the slumping Blue Jays.

New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo continued his hot offensive June in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Yankees. Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, three RBI, a walk, and a strikeout. Nimmo got in on the slugfest in the fourth inning, lining a Gerrit Cole offering into the right-field seats for the team's fourth HR. The 31-year-old has picked things up in June after a slow start to the season, slashing .321/.384/.590 with five HR and 17 RBI in 78 at-bats. He has been a reliable fantasy option throughout his career and thankfully appears to have gotten back on that track in June.

New York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos stayed hot at the plate in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Yankees. Vientos went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs and a strikeout. Vientos hit the first of four HR off of Gerrit Cole in the second inning and added another one in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old has put together a solid offensive season, slashing .297/.349/.576 with nine HR, 21 runs scored, and 20 RBI in 129 plate appearances. Vientos' biggest skill is his power, so he should continue to be a fantasy contributor if he can provide that along with a serviceable batting average.
