Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins made his only hit count in Monday's 6-3 win over the Rangers, going 1-for-4 with a grand slam and two strikeouts. Hoskins came to the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning down by two with the bases loaded and no outs, ambushing a Jacob Latz fastball deep into the left-field seats. Despite the blast, the 31-year-old has hit for less average and power than usual, slashing .224/.316/.423 with 11 HR, 23 runs scored, and 35 RBI in 232 plate appearances. The good news is that he has picked things up a bit lately and now has a six-game hitting streak. Hopefully, he will be able to continue this for fantasy managers.

The Los Angeles Angels signed infielder Keston Hiura to a minor league contract over a week ago, and in the 10 games he's played with Triple-A Salt Lake, the 27-year-old is 15-for-40 (.375) with a double and five home runs. He's still striking out at a high rate (32.6%), but it's good to see the former first-round draft pick hitting for average and power after a few forgettable campaigns with Milwaukee and after getting released by Detroit this season without making a regular season appearance with the Tigers. He hasn't played in a major league game since 2022, but hit .303 with 19 home runs in just 84 games once upon a time in 2019, so maybe he can find the magic again with the Angels.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran played the hero in Monday's 7-6 win over the Blue Jays. Duran went 3-for-5 with two singles, a double, and an RBI. The most important hit came in the bottom of the ninth inning with a runner on second base, when Duran hit an RBI single off Zach Pop to end the game. The 27-year-old has built off his strong 2023 season with a .293/.355/.488 slash line, seven home runs, 55 runs scored, 37 RBI, and 20 stolen bases in 364 plate appearances. He should continue to be a consistent fantasy producer hitting at the top of the Red Sox' lineup.

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz had another solid offensive game in Monday's 11-5 win over the Pirates. De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a single, a double, a two-run home run, and three RBI. The 22-year-old obliterated a sixth-inning Daulton Jefferies offering deep to center field for his 14th long ball of the season. De La Cruz has provided the power-speed combo fantasy managers were hoping for, slashing .249/.342/.464 with 52 runs scored, 35 RBI, and 37 stolen bases in 332 plate appearances. His batting average is mediocre and he is still striking out too much at a 31.0% clip, but fantasy managers will easily overlook this given his elite counting stat production.

Cleveland Guardians relief pitcher Scott Barlow picked up his second save of the season in Monday's 3-2 win over the Orioles. Barlow came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by one and struck out the side to seal the win. Closer Emmanuel Clase has pitched each of the last two days, so Barlow was called upon to close things out. The 31-year-old has pitched well overall this season, picking up 16 holds with a 3.66 ERA, a 12.38 K/9 rate, and a 4.78 BB/9 rate in 32 innings of work. While he has spent time as a closer in his career, Barlow will likely see very limited opportunities given Clase's elite skillset. However, his high strikeout numbers and high-leverage usage could make him worth a look in saves-plus-holds leagues.
